Clio 197 Standard H/U to Sub

How do I go about wiring my sub to a standard H/U?

I know I need the Autoleads connector thing so I can wire it up to the rear speakers, but what about the remote wire for the amp? What do I do with it? Ciggy lighter? How do I even access it and which wire do I put it on to?

I know it would be better if I got an aftermarket one etc etc but I want to wire it up to the standard, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

you can use the ignition feed on the radio for the remote lead but itd be best to use a delayed relay so the sub doesnt go thud when you turn on the ignition

Which wire is it for the ignition feed off the radio? I'm not keeping the car long but want it wired you see.

varies from model to model
plug 3 either pin 4 or 7 by this diagram
if you dont have a multimeter youll know by hooking everything up and attaching the remote to one or the other,if it thuds when connected to one then thats the permanent, you'll need the other

Oh nice! Very clear thank youu. Just another thing though.. How do I put the remote wire there if the plugs are in the way? Splice the wires?

strip back the cabling there and solder to it then tape it with self emalgamating tape or something else suitable (please dont use scotch locks)

How do I test it first then? Strip one of them back first and then see if it comes on? If not then just try the other one?

Thanks alot though mate!

you wont need to strip it
you'll be able to just push the cable into where the terminal goes just to test it without stripping anything

Does anyone know what colour the rear speaker wires are on the wiring at the back of the headunit? I dunno what they mean there's no labels :(
