Hi there

i have a 65 Clio DCi and it's the model that doesn't come with an intercooler.

few questions i need answering.

Does the kangoo intercooler fit? as they seem to be cheaper to buy than a clio one.

one ive seen, does look simular in the pictures, same outlet positions etc, but not 100% on the diameters and all that.

and also, are all the intercooler pipes universal for all the renault models? megane 1.5 dci, kangoo etc?

I'm looking for an intercooler too for my 65. Think I have found an 80 one with all pipe work but I know its not as efficient as the 100 one.

Did read on the cliodci forums that a Focus TDCi one will work but still not as good as the 100 and would have to be played about with to get mounted and hooked up properly.

Would like to know if anyone has fitted a different intercooler and how it performed?

they're hard to find second hand. personally i think any intercooler like the 80 model will be a big improvement over not having one at all.

not looking for big bhp on mine as its not that type of car, just want it more efficient.

Getting hold of a universal intercooler is easy, it's sorting out the pipework which is the hard and expensive part.
They pop up every now and again on eBay for sale.
Someone is selling one on www.RenaultdCi.net at the moment.

To get the most out of fitting a intercooler, you really need a remap as without one you won't feel much difference.

The intercooler wont help with efficiency.

Finding it difficult to get hold of a clio intercooler so I was thinking about getting a different one. Would i still need clio specific pipes to get it to connect to turbo and inlet?

Above is what the dCi 100 Intercooler looks like.

The Kangoo does look similar although, different mounting brackets and looks slightly shorter.

too much faffing around with those universal kits. probably hve to a some pipes and all that.

better off buying a DCi intercooler and buying the standard pipe work or stainless ready made for the DCi

Sorry to thread poach but my sisters is a 65 and it has the slender intercooler in the grille?

What diameter are the ends?
and what did you pay for the new one?
