Clio II head units/radios - all interchangable or not?

Hi all,

I have a 2003 172. I want to replace the head unit because here in Australia the soft touch coating on the plastic trim degardes and goes sticky. The non sport clios don't have this sticky coating. Are the head units used in non sport clios the same as the ones used in 172s in terms of fit and sound quality?

iirc cars with tuner list radio's can't be updated to update list radio's.

Not really - I want to maintain the stock interior appearance.

I'm not sure tbh. My 182 has an update list, my brothers 1.2 has a tuner list.
I think it depended on the year of the car.
I'm pretty sure mine wouldn't work in his, but don't know if his would work in mine!
