Clio Treated, but harsh quote

  don't

well the clio is getting treated at moment

new alloy centre cap in the week,

on saturday garage drilled out snapped wheel bolt, £30 so not too bad, took 1 hour

got new bolt from scrapyard for £1, fair enough, gd condition bolt, pretty much new

then it got a nice wash
then its been booked in for oil and filter change at kwik-fit nxt sat for £25

i asked garage that did the wheel bolt for a quote on spraying a new wing

its a mk1 btw, wing is £30 and they charge £30 an hr labour
bloke quoted me £256 for new wing and spraying, seems very expensive, although the quote did include fitting which i can do myself easy enough

so now im tempted to leave the wing slightly battered and sell it on like that, or should i carry on trying, or just ring all scrapies each 2 weeks asking if they have 1 in the right colour

think ill just ring a few places and say ill fit it, just need u 2 get it for £30 and then prep and spray it

see what they come up with, garage prob added on £100 for fitting and removing last one!

will have to see, otherwise ill have 2 try and sell car like it, its not that bad, but just puts the car down

my advice is to ask to watch the fitter doing the job for peace of mind and try to make sure they have the right tools for the job other wise they might make a right mess of your sump plug ive seen it done by the muppets that i work with as i work for kwik fit  (well the pays not to bad it pays for the cars). and also ask them to replace the sump washer as some times the old ones can leak

hope this helps and doesent put you off taking it there lol
