Im not sure I’m going to be able to get the clio up. It’s overdue it’s belts and whilst I sling on a new Aux belt whist I did my alternator this weekend, it’s clear the tensioner is not great. Not sure it’s worth risking that length of drive…currently trying to sort a slot with a specialist, but Diamond at booked out. So it’s either Medip Auto services or Ktec Wolverhampton. Even then I’m away on holiday as well so I may just have to come
Up in the Merc.

Because when I get the belts don’t it will need to be replaced again, I was hoping to get them
Done in August before MOT. I was swapping the AUX belt whilst I did the alternator…just as good practice. But the thought of spending £90 and a f**k load of hassle, for it to be done again in August seems a bit mad

I mean who the f**k goes there to look at clios anyway. Only sad virgins, I’m going there to get pissed. I would however like to drive there in my clio and whilst silver is s**t to you northern chimps, I can assure you silver Clios are fastest….well apart from mine as it’s broken

Why will you need to do the aux kit again in August if you've already replaced it yourself now? Not like theyre the same replacement timeframe as the cambelt anyway.

Should have done it when you did the alternator as you're 95% of the way there 😂

I replaced the belt, but the existing Aux belt and tensioner is only 3k old. So given the car was going on August for the service I thought I’d just replace the belt, for the pocket change it is and chance the tensioner. I was wrong, happens from time to time. It needs a full belt service including water pump, which will
Mean changing the Aux belt again. Not sure how many specialists will be happy to reuse a tensioner. Regardless of age, so my view being get it in for the belt services ASAP and get it done and sorted. I have loosened the tensioner up now, but I’m not happy driving it until it’s done. Just ain’t worth the risk. I may buy a complete Aux belt kit tomorrow, but I’m awaiting feedback from a few specialists to see if they would be happy reusing the tensioner when the do the work. But obviously it’s a bank holiday weekend so will know more early next week.

Weird tensioners gone only after 3k? Was it genuine? Understand now on the belt front but if its changed before the major service theres no reason it couldnt be refitted.

I know mick wont fit service parts you've supplied.

You shouldn’t reuse a belt anyway mate, not in my experience it’s just not worth the risk. To be honest I also wouldn’t want them to reuse a tensioner and then if I had a problem be told ‘I told you so’

Was looking at this the other day (only just recently joined with the purchase of a 182) and then noticed I have a trackday booked on the Sunday (17th!)

I'll most likely be in the MX5 as I don't think I'll have the Clio anywhere near ready but is anyone hanging around for the trackday on the Sunday too?

I would have come for the Saturday/weekend but I've already got plans on the Friday night and Saturday.

  Shit little Yaris...
Well, I've fitted a seat lowing kit to the Yaris, but I'm still too high in the seat to be able to wear a helmet for some track time.

Bugger.

As mentioned,I am producing a lowered seating kit for the GR Yaris.

You mention you already have one fitted but isn’t quite right for you ?

drop me a message and let’s see what the issue is 👌

I know, you asked for someone tall on FB. I replied and offered my car, you didn't reply after I stated I was free to pop over.

So I'll pass, cheers.

It’s not no, who’s in Bristol Daniel?

good news though, I fixed it! Fitted a replacement tensioner and belt this weekend. So car is all system go!
@lemonnobby - looks after my track car, my Kangoo van etc. doesn’t come on here much but is very popular in the clio trophy world.
