With regard to the original post, people always underestimate the RenaultSport Clios, IMO thats part of the appeal!! 
When I had my 172 I had all sorts of comments from people I worked with, one guy in his Audo A3 just wouldn't accept the performance figures of a 172 compared to his 1.8T.
Had a mate in an FTO try it off the lights and it was like he was going backwards against my Megane 225, people just don't seem to expect Renaults to be as fast. Just have to prove it I guess haha

I owned a 1.9 GTi a while back and it was truly a little beast of a car. BUT, when i purchased my Trophy I was blown away with the way it just sticks and goes!! Don't think a little pug would have a hope in hells chance of keeping up with it unless it was seriously enhanced!!

the 205gti's are slower i think, cos of the weight on the bodywork...
i prefer the shape to the clios tho, jus my opinion.

simple really so someone has told you a clio 172 only has 130bhp standard well unless his referring to power at the wheels of which they are more than that anyway he obviously does'nt have a clue what does the 172 mean limited run of

no std 1.9 205 gti has ever done 0-100 in 16-17 secs they do not do sub 7 to 60 they are around 20-22 to the ton.
yes they handle well , BUT they game has moved on std for std maybe on a really really tight snaking b road where the 16v engine might struggle to keep on the boil, the 8v peugeot could probably keep with it,
its down to drivers in that situation, but on give and take roads, a good b road, or a road the clio would be into the distance.

I live in kettering in northamptonshire, come to focus and audi etc car park at night, loads of cars there usually, and there a dually with 2 roundabouts right next to it where everyone races, so feel free to come along would be awesome if some1 would come to show them all up.
