Clutch fitting prices!!!!

Went round a couple of garages by me today to get a rough price on changing a clutch,

One place just a little local garage, ok fella seems sound been there before says £150 if i supply the clutch.(5 gtt one) A whole days work he said.

Another little garage said £220 supply fitted a standard valver clutch, 6 hrs work.

A Reno dealer wanted £500! a day and a bits work!

Which one would everyone go for?? And is the prices about right etc??

well £200 is the correct price and if u think a clutch is bout £50 so u got a choice either a 16v clutch or a GTT clutch!

I had to get my clutch done on a phase 1 16v last week. Renault dealer wanted £627 but got it elsewhere, parts, fitting for £340. Had trouble getting any cheaper so if youve been quotes lower, id go for it.. No idea on the 5GTt or 16v option..seems strange to go for the 5GTt when the clio puts out more power. I understand that the williams may have a better clutch aswell, so may be worth considering...

Mine was done in june cost the guy £780 but he did get it done at Bentley!

7.5 hours labour!

Renault 5gtt turbo new shape heavy duty clutch from andyspares, do a search for clutches on tech forum. Its a meaty clutch alright, goes straight on, and is badged as a volvo 480 turbo clutch. Clutches for trubo cars are always usually heavy duty! so a uprated 5gt one will be solid in a valver
