coilover fitting and brake disc fitting

  Arctic 182 + yozza
Hi guys,

just a quick few questions.

ive just got the ktec coilover kit which is being fit by a mechanic friend. with regards to getting it 'setup' is it as simple as taking it to a tyre garage and getting the tracking done or is it something more specialist?

at the same time, i need to change my rear discs. i can change front discs fine i just understand there is a bearing in the rear disc. is it as simple as removing the old disc, popping bearing out, in new disc and fit? or do i need new bearings?

many thanks!

for the coilys, its a bit more specialist, you need '3D' alignment with coilys so the garage would need to have the equipment, then they can properly do camber etc instead of just tracking

does anyone actually know the definative answer for what camber and toe settings need to be set for normal road use?

Only standard discs from Renault come with ABS rings and bearings pressed in, silly if you buy anything else IMO

Matt, get yo ass down to www.elitedirect.com in Rainham.

I'm very glad I read this. I also have some KTEC coilovers on order (and funnily enough will be fitting new brake discs soon) and I was going to ask where to take it for alignment. It's about an hour and a bit away from me but I assume these guys are worth the journey?

As I understand it I should let the coilovers bed in for a few weeks before getting them setup?

I don't really know how good they are with coilovers. They aligned my suspension and did my dad's old focus. Cracking job. They also only sell KW & Eibach suspension, maybe Bilstein too? That's gotta tell you something! So.....I'd presume they'd be good with setting up coilovers? Give them a call and ask.

Make sure the place that's doing it really know what they are doing mate to get the best out the suspension.
