Connect2 sterreo control interface - anything special needed?

I've bought a used one from ebay and wired it all in but cant get it to work? I've emailed the seller but thought id post here to see if there are any tricks to test/check or activate them.
It was listed for as a CTSRN003 with Alpine adated, (it has a 3.5mm stereo socket)
Headunit is alpine CDA-117ri.

what was the original head unit?

If it was a Tuner List, you'll be fine, but you'll need a CTALPINELEAD adapter lead....but that couldbe what you've said is coming with it, in which case you'll be fine.

If your original OEM stereo was an "update list" then you might be a bit stuck

hmm what comes in a 182? whats the difference?
what models have the tuner list?
The connects2 site just says its the correct one if you have the 2 displays, which I have.

I could well be wrong, when I got the alpine lead to do stalks and display they were REALLY insistent that I had the right one.
For stalks-only it might be different.

Just like Goodj said. I had this and wasted hours trying to figure it out. The instructions are crap too. really crap.
You must have an update list stereo which means you need the other connects 2 adapter.
I ended up going to a car stereo shop in Oxford and they bent me over for £70 for the right one - it wasnt a connects 2 adapter it was another brand - name escapes me.
let me try and find it....

CTSRN005 for update list. you can keep the little headphone looking lead for the above though.
My first 2004 182 had a tuner list and my 2006 182 has an update list. Im not sure of the later 182s all had update list or whether it was all a random mixture.

Mines a 2004, and connectors look identical to my 2002 172.

connectors on the one you posted looks a lot like the ones on my wifes 2006/7 megane.
Will wire up the unit to my old 172 see if that works.
Might just be a duff 2nd hand unit!

look on your old headunit and see if it says tuner list or update list. that is the key to this .
