Conversion advise 2003 Clio sport - five to six speed gearbox. Help please

Hi All
i have a 2003 172 Clio sport. I am in the process of having a full engine rebuild, then K-tec induction kit, 182 twin tail pipe conversion with chip and remap. As it was in fifth the engine was revving to high. I would like a six speed gearbox conversion to lower the engines rev in top gear while cruising down the motorway. Can anyone help with how to go about this. Is there a box I can buy that bolts straight on - or what do I need to do. Any advice would be really appreciated.

It will cost you lots to do that conversion and for not a lot of gain IMO. i suggest driving slower

It's not the fast driving - at 70 to 80 I would just like the engine revs at below two grand. Prolong the life of the engine and give better fuel economy. Do you know of a conversion that has been done - and works?

VW O2m or the box from the megane. both cost a pretty penny to swap over though.

Thanks for the welcome. I only bought the Clio as a car for the mrs to pass her test in. Not knowing what I had bought, just thought she would be happy with the half leather interior. Needless to say she has another car now and I'm in the middle of a project on the Clio. Fun car to drive, with the re build and conversion I'm doing should be fairly nippy but still reliable. It had covered 120k but had been maintained regardless of cost and garaged since new. Rare unthrashed or crashed - looks like it just rolled off the production line. Now had all new running gear, breaks and rims. Re building the engine as up grading a lump that's done that many miles is only asking for problems - fairly soon I would think! This way I know it should be good for the next five years. As a new owner - and not done any conversions since my Renault 5 turbo back in the 90's - any tips would be really appreciated.

Thanks for that. Will look into it. Cost not the major concern - rather the result. As is always the case you never get your money back. If I keep it the next five years or so I will have had my pleasure out of it.

Unfortunately I'm another one in the don't bother camp. It'll cost a lot for minimal improvement in economy (probably not enough to recover the costs over 5 years unless you were doing moon mileage)!
