Corrosion underneath number plate

[V9 GSW]

Just got myself a 3/4 size standard plate, but when taking off my standard plate have found that the adhesive stickers i used have corroded the paint underneath.

I need to know my options, i was thinkin of sanding it down and resprayin the area as even if i isn't perfect the majority of it will be covered by my 3/4 plate?

Any other suggestions or advice if I spray it myself?

Use a proper legal sized numberplate?

It won't have corroded the paint though it might just clean up as such.
