cost of pro dampers 172/182 ??? check this!

  182
www.janspeed.com
Should see Janspeed direct, scroll down on the left side to suspension and hit dampers (pro dampers)

select 172 option on page 2, apparently only £169.20...........

now they have either made a mistake or are really poor for the car or its completely legitt and a bloody good deal!!

Looking at other company prices they seem to vary at around £340 to £400 so what is going on??

Rob.

yeh, just followed that, not clear what it covers, maybe thats per pair so £340 for the set ? that'd still be a good price. cheapest ive seen them are £399

  Vectra :(
just looked m8. every other set is for about £400 on the site and so obviously comes in sets of 4.

Maybe is a mistake but under the trading standards act or whatever it comes under for advertising of you ordered and its an error they would still have to supply them for you.

tempted to get them and see. If there is only a pair i will send them back :)

Were there any difference between mk1 and 2 172's regarding rear dampers? could it be that?

  182
Hi Rich spose that would make sense but how come everything else is priced high ie: gti 180, saxo vts etc??
Motorsportworld is £340...

  Vectra :(
Just checked the code on the interweb against other stockists and they are a complete set for clio B (09/98 onnwards 1.2, 1.4,....). Price is over £330 everywhere i looked including direct from supplier so therefore its a mistake on the site

I am going to order some i think. Could be a bargain had here :)

Lam7r not sure on the difference between mk1 mk2. I have a non cupped 182 which is basically a 172 in terms of suspension they only list it as 172...

Rob.

Ps anyone no how good these dampers actually are over standard 182??

nope.

thats just "an invitation to trade". if they send you a confirmation email after you have ordered with that price on then you're in business.

Could always send them back if they are the wrong ones tho m8. Just checked refund policy on site and they will refund anyway as it is advertised as 172;s 98 onwards so if its the wrong type will have to refund IMO

^ they are supposed to be on par with koni, and are matched to the Eibach Pro and Sportline springs too, theres been a couple of threads on them in past week

Im a little thrown off by the applications to be honest?? All the places ive checked list it as clio B but never any mention of the 2.0.. 1.4 - 1.9 etc

Janspeed is the first place ive seen it that they advertise them for the 172,
Is the clioB 1.4 1.6 1.9 the same application for the 2.0??

  Vectra :(
I have ordered a set now. As been saving for some for a while but the price of £380 put me off.

Added comments to the sale asking if its a complete set so will let you know what happens.

Worse case is there are only 2 and i need 2 more lol

If the price is different to advertised they have to inform you anyway and you have a right to cancek the purchase

As far as i am aware and as been told by other people the dampers are the same for the different clio models its just the springs that are different from eibach as the 172 is only a 20mm drop where as a 1.2 can go to 60mm odd. Thats if i recall correctly.

Got an order confirmation now with the same price on and an order tracking number

^ good luck, crickey I wish I was as decisive as you !

** update - the part numbers are identical on the janspeed site to the dampers on motorsportworld's price of £340, ie part number = 60-75-001-01-22

Will just send them back if they are wrong or wont buy them if they ask for full price. I have never not been able to send anything back before that was advertised wrongly :) Either that or let the missus do it. When she starts shouting companies always take it back and refund. Helps with her being a solicitor

Im well tempted by this I have been building up to buy some dampers for a while I am currently running Eibach pro springs was debating which shock to go for koni or eibach??

Please can someone just confirm that a non cupped 182 is the same fitment as the 172?
and that the shocks advertised on the Janspeed website will fit my car?
cheers
Rob.

Ive just looked on a few more sites the part number I keep getting is;
E-60-75-001-01 22
Which appears to be for : Clio B 1.4,1.4 16v, 1.6, 1.5dci, 1.9, 1.9dti no mention of 2.0?
Is this the application for the 2.0 aswell?
cheers

Rob.

Eibach 2005 pricelist www.mayer.be/library/EibachPreisliste2005.xls

No variants of part number 60-75-001-01-22 so theres only 1 pro damper set for all Clio B's, Their shop states this part number for 2.0 model so the kit on sale at Janspeed has gotta be correct for the 172 as theres no kit specific for the 172

  Vectra :(
Hopefully they process my order before they realise :) Hope they do as my rear shock is leaking a bit...just need to get me some pro-line springs now to compliment the dampers

The dampers are claimed to be matched to both Pro's and Sportlines (not sure if that's marketing speil or not)

Sportlines will lower more than the Pro's, Depends what you want.

Pro's don't appear to look too much lower than standard, the Sportlines are a compromise between Pro and the Apex -40mm
