Finally on coilovers,

Maybe a bit too low for some peoples tastes, but I love it!

and believe it or not, only the splitter catches the floor, no tyre scrubbage either! win!

Plans are to get some silvervisions and colour code everything, maybe get some new bumpers and start smoothing bits here n there.

Comments welcome!

Where the hell do you drive it? I could never pull that off with the amount of speedbumps round here.

  Ph1 track 172
took a little drive all over today,

not that many speedbumps where i live, and most of them are really long so only the splitter hits,

and loosing the splitter is an occupational hazard!

That looks mint. But seen far too many of these navy blue ph1s slammed.

Rage, couzens etc etc

Superb work, car really shows off how not much can make these little sub 1k motors look :)

looking alot like mine mate. what coilovers are you on and how much did you pay? smooth the bumpers, then we can be twins :D

  Ph1 track 172
wheels are 15" 7j, with 165/50/15s on bit of stretch,

i did have camber on the rear reyes, but i thought it looked broken so took it off,

its on rokkor coilovers £168, for just the coilovers,

but they only do them in 58mm so a hub conversion was necessary,

i do want to smooth the bumpers, maybe if moneys good in a couple of months,
kind of pushed the boat out this month.

thanks for the comments guys :D shes come a long long way since i signed up to cliosport!

how much did the hub conversion cost if you dont mind me asking? what did you need to do, just fit the ph2 hubs? straight swap?

Mine is only on springs at the moment, and really want coilovers but i think only apex do them for the ph1 and they cost £450+

and also how did you fit the camber on the rear? ive been looking for camber shims for a good 3 months now. and i have failed miserablly!

its not the model of clio that makes the difference, its the distance between hub bolts, on the very low spec (mine :D) its 52mm, and 58mm on all the other (except 1*2).

Vmax do the coilover in 52mm for 399, but thats the cheapest i found,

full conversion cost around 300, that included the larger brakes.

however when i looked at the two hubs side by side, it doesnt look like you need to change the brakes. I believe the hubs are a straight swap. so 168 + 40(aprox) for coilovers.

i did a little write up here:

Very nice. You planning on dialing in any camber? Would complete the look imo!

Edit: just read above ;)

  Ph1 track 172
i did pikey camber,

take off the brake drum, and put washers under the bottom two bolts,

doubt im going to add camber again, wasnt a massive fan of it

  Ph1 track 172
quite a few people on here have done it, and no failures so far.
the bolts that hole the drum on are pretty long,
so long as you do the bolt up to the correct tightness i dont see why it would be unsafe.

and mine passed an MOT, but i wouldnt accept any liability if it did fall off.

Looks really good mate, really like it :). Only thing I would say though (may just be the picture angle though) I would personally raise the rear a little so you've got the same gap as on the front? Only cause it looks to be reverse-raking a tad at the minute. But the front is spot on. Looking forward to seeing this at FCS :D

Cannot wait untill i get coilovers! looking good will have to look next time your over lakeside.

  Ph1 track 172
thanks guys! this makes me happy lol,

ive tried to find a suitable compromise between level sills, and arch gap,

unfortunatley, ive found an issue today which may mean it needs to be raised :(
but i will need to ponder upon the matter first.

also i like the splitter, it gives it that "f**k me thats low" factor :p

  mk2 ph1 1.4 S
now thats nice as!
what was it you were saying about models and spacing for coileys?
ive got the ph1 1.4 S... i fecking hope its 58mm spacing for cheapness :D

what spacers and what brand are the tyres? looks ace just loose the splitter

  Ph1 track 172
it should 58mm,

in experience its only 8v engined clios of both ph1 and ph2 that have the 52mm spacing,

easiest thing to do it either take a wheel off, or put it on full lock,
and measure! middle of the bottom bolt, to the middle of the top!

glad you like it dude :)

and BIF,
theyre bridgestone potenza 165/50/15,

mytyres.com (.co.uk) sell them rather cheap!

and its on 25mm delta mics spacers all round,

what splitter would you suggest replacing it with??

and are you going FCS??

  Ph1 track 172
everything from "and BIF" below is,

sorry you posted as i was writing, so after i just edited,
seems it didnt go well :(
