Crank pulley bolt stretch

I've just fit a new bolt on my car, took it off after a couple days to redo the timing, the bolt had stretched to 53mm.

The Renault manual says to renew the bolt if it's stretched over 49.1mm so I got a new bolt.

Just measured the brand new bolt from Renault and its 52mm!

Is the 49.1mm figure correct?

49.1 is correct. Sounds like they might have a manufacturing difference

Would it be ok to use the new bolt? It hadn't stretched yet I guess

yes i'd say so, it won't bottom out
