crash/bump. not happy

  1998 BMW e46 323i
Reversed at slow slow speed into a telegraph pole. Thought there'd be a dent and scratch, but this?! Half my car's missing and the boot won't open!

now i appreciate the importance and the engineering of crumple zones, but my boot floor is a mess, and i was just tootling backwards at no more than 4-5mph

f**k! how fast were you reversing?
That will be as good as new when repaired though, hope it gets sorted sharpish mate.

BTW clio tailgates are weak as f**k, jeep rolled into my old 1.2 and proper fucked it up, he was only rolling slowly....

i'm spitting feathers. was in a carpark, in no hurry and in a residential area. just backed up slowly and this, I imagine it's because the load was centralised... but ffs!!!!!!!!!

bloody hell and i thought the clio was a strong car, waying up costs would it be cheaper to go out of insurance and pay out of your own pocket?

hope you get it sorted

i crashed the cup and insurance went from 1200 a year to 2500, on the fiesta its 800 tpft, might be worth considering???

dont bother going through insurance, get a second hand tailgate and second hand bumper, back panel might need a slight pull but thats it, wont be as much as your expecting i bet

that was june last year, its all fine now. the other guys insurance payed for it all. i was stationary when it happened, on a straight road. didnt even see it coming!

This is what its going to be fixed for on saturday.

I work on an Army base and some idiot reversed into me. About 100 meters from where i work and at 820am monday morning!

Wasnt happy!

Buggery, I did similar in my old Ph1 106 XSi and the damage was no where near that bad! Broken rear light and a slight dent in the bumper!

As above, I wouldn't go through insurance, £500 initial payout plus the increased insurance costs just doesn't make it worthwhile.

i've gone through the insurers.

thought long and hard about fixing it myself,(and having the thing stolen and torched), but figured buying the parts, and getting them sprayed + the quality of finish affecting the resale value would be fruitless in the long run.

I hit an immoveable object of small surface area and have to pay the price.

Jebus, thats a lot of damage for the accident. Harsh that mate.

I don't think I'd of gone through the insurance for that. Not in my circumstances anyway, £500+ excess and then god knows how much of an increase in insurance, wouldn't be worth it for me.

Hope it's sorted for you soon.

hard luck mate, i done this in my first clio, reversed into a trolley bay thing at midnight, couldnt see it either.. was so annoyed!

Ouch. For God's sake don't open the boot, doubt you'll be able to close it again, then you might wake up to no car at all.

So unlucky. I feel for you mate. :/

you will lose 2NCB so not too bad. damage will be reasonabley costly. Rear end of clios are quite stong on a spreaded force.

Hope its sorted soon for you matey.
