plan was to convert this to a 2.0l in the new year... would be the only 2.0l ever in this color... wil have to see what comes of the repair

Jordan is genuinely injured tho, are you saying you wouldnt claim for an injury knowing that you'd be entitled to a few thousand as it wasnt your fault?
Loss of earnings, the hassle of it all, losing the car, injury, sleepless nights, whatever, thats why the insurance is there.
Yes people fake injuries and claim, thus bumping premiums up maybe, but insurance is there for a reason.

Atleast you haven't got that micra anymore..... The corsa must of been an improvement on that?

I think the point is that if it weren't for all the ambulance chaser adverts over the past 5 to 10 years then nobody would be bothered or even know how to make a personal injury claims.
We are not Americans (thank god!) so why do we adopt their twisted views on things, especially when it comes to getting something for (almost) nothing.
I agree if its a life changing injury like losing a limb or vision then yes -claim, but if not dust your self off and get on with life. Cry wolf once too often and people stop listening or caring.
The only reason I'm saying this is because I personally know of someone who has made 5 fraudulent (and has admitted it) personal injury claims in the last 10 years from car "accidents" and is now claiming disability benefit:nono: , gets a mobility car and a carer, and all that is wrong with her is shes too so**ing lazy to get off her fat ar*e to earn an honest living like the rest of us. We all have to pay for people like that through our ever increasing insurance premiums.

Well I had whiplash in all 3 cases, but just got on with my life regardless. I even cracked a vertibrae in one. 2 of those accidents were classed as horiffic and all were the fault of another driver.I never have and I've been in 3 very bad ones. I have my moral reasons for not doing so though

It's just I stongly disagree with the "American Litigation Culture" that's becoming more and more prominent over here. All the adverts dont serve to help in any cause. Personally I think it's petty and only serves to bump up everone's premiums, especially with the way people are encouraging others to make an allegedly "genuine" claim, eg. by listing symptoms.
You're right, insurance is there for a reason... but it's there to protect people and not there to be abused

however, if you have been involved in an accident then i think you are wll within your rights to claim. like russ has stated, accidents go way beyond just personal and obvious injury.
i hate the whole american "sue me sue you" regime that is coming in, with the no win no fee etc etc, having a father that owns factories i constantly hear about fraudulant claims and i think its morally wrong, and obv abuses the system put in place to protect others.
