Creaking b*****d....

I dont know if the warm weather is making it worse, but in the past few days Ive heard a really loud creaking noise when the steering is on full lock.

I notice it most turning into our lane, which is a tight left-hand turn - definite 1st gear job.

Time to do a forum search methinks. Suspension mounts? Ball joints?

mine does that - and mine is lowered what could it be

as i said, probably just the body flexing, mine does it too, so do many others.

mine does to, and is on standard suspension.

This could be the same as someone the other day.I know on the 172s some had this fault when pulling away on full lock the the suspension knocking on the strut tops.When i put my strutbrace on my 172 i took the shocker tops off the strup top had been ground away and when i went to renault they explained they had to grind some away to stop them knocking this had been done before i owned the car

Mine creaks when its warm inside from around the steering column shround... Could this be it? Gets very annoying, but am waiting for a list of things before it goes in!

Mine creaks on full right lock (cup chassis), had it in to Renault to be fixed and they said they couldnt find a fault.

Sorry guys - a week delay in coming back on this one.

The car was dropped off at Reno this morning and I picked it up on the way home. They said they had sorted out a technical issue but didnt go into detail as to what it was? That was even after I asked what the technical issue was. Weird.

Anyways, the car sounded a lot quieter a tonight - in fact, it made no creaks or anything on the way back. I just hope it stays that way....

In response to the other questions as well, it hasnt been lowered. Just a plain, old bog-standard 182!

mine does this, again from day 1, and my 172 did it... would be wonderful if someone could actually explain what it is.!!!
