Creaky Sunroof Fix

  Breaking A 172 Replica
Just removed my sunroof and some white plastic circle with a hole throught he middle snapped and fell out.

I wondered what it was but thought nothing of it and proceeded to take the glass out and give it a good clean.

After getting it back together again I went for a drive and noticed the sunroof was creaking alot (it has been quiet as a mouse on this car prior to removing the handle) but it stopped when I squeezed the handle together.

I am 95% sure the previous owner put the white plastic in place to stop the creaking.

Conclusion: If you have an annoying creakey sunroof go and buy a white plastic circle wth a whole through the middle and place it on the metal pole that hold the handle to the car.

If anyone gets notified of this reply can you be a bit more specific about 'a white bit of plastic with a hole in it' please? just bought a clio with a very creaky sunroof but havent had a chance to sort it out yet as its raining (constantly! lol). Is it a washer i'm after? dimms would be helpful if anyone knows? I was just going to clean it up and put silicon spray on the seal to see if that sorted it but if its something to do with the handle then I won't bother maybe. thanks in advance.

another to help stop the creaking is to take a piece of small rubber tube ( like a fuel line for a remote control car or a bike or something ) split it one side and put that over the metal pin, pulls the glass tighter. Silicon spray will help aswell, or wd40 or something on the hinge can make it a bit quieter.
