Lots of different display options, some much more gimmicky than others, but there's some useful stuff in there. Even just having a live view of EGT, IAT and water temperature should give me some confidence that everything's within reasonable limits.

Interesting to see from the photo that the car's coolant sensor is showing four bars / halfway which is as high as it ever gets, all while the actual ECT reading on the Lufi is still only 50°C.
Does that box record speed etc? just wondering if you got pulled over could the police look at the history and use it against you?

Possibly, not sure. IIRC you can query high / low readings but not sure what sensors that's limited to.

That said, I'm not sure how useful that would be as it doesn't really prove anything other than OBD2 reported a certain speed at some unknown time in the past. Could have been on a private road, on a rolling road, up on jacks, different driver, could even be a factory test value that I've never been in to reset etc. etc.

AIUI for anything like that to be useful the speed has to be definitively tied to a location and a date / time. Happy to be corrected though.

I might have missed this, anything wrong with the GFB diverter valve? Been looking at getting one for my M2.

The last set were decent enough but they went on in 2019, and even though they had 4mm of tread left, they were pretty heavily perished and cracking before CSF. The track afternoon definitely showed them up as being past their best, so they've been replaced with a full set of PS5s, and I've also taken the opportunity to replace the metal valves with rubber ones to hopefully head off the corrosion issues.

Just been in for its MoT which, with an extended emissions test, it managed to pass. At the same time though I had the guy look at my brakes as my discs were long overdue a replacement. They went on fine, but he's pointed out that the Mintex pads I put on for CSF are cracked:

He's recommended I swap them out for normal road duties so I've got a set of OE pads on now, but he did say he thinks the Mintex pads would be okay for another track-day. There's still loads of material on them, it's just that surface cracking that's a bit worrying.

What's the CS consensus? Are these only good for the bin or would they be fine for CSF2025?

I would just replace them with something new. They might be ok. But the risk is chunks of material coming off.
I think I might look at something a bit better then.

I think I made a poor choice with the Mintex anyway as they didn't feel all that great on track. I was too worried about ending up with a s**t pad for the road when I should have just got a decent track pad then swapped the OE pads back on once I got home.

I’m running these on the front with PBS discs. They are fine on the road and good on track.


Next thing for my fiesta will be braided lines and better fluid. Maybe some brake cooling ducts as well.

Drop the pads on the floor on their end, if the material comes off then bin them. If not then send it on those pads. I have some PBS ones that are the same and they've been fine

Just swap them out after you've been on track as they clearly don't like being wet and open to the elements like most track pads do. I swap mine out during winter when I don't use the car. Saves having £200 worth of brakepads down the squitter
