Cup Compensator

Brake lines/compensators are one thing I know nothing about - cup seems to have been attacked from multiple angles on the braking system, there's s**t loads of different pipes - I'll probably end up getting them all re-done for piece of mind, but is the compensator valve thingy connected properly? I'm sure I've read that the cup doesn't have it connected?

Looks wrong to me. They do have the valve but should have no spring attached to the. Even weirder looks like yours has a metal bar attached?

That looks the same as the valve I got and mine came with the bar too! I don't understand why some cars dont have the bar, without it surely the valve doesn't adjust for when more weight is in the back of the car?

Right i've freed the bar connector off now, proper bodge job, someone had welded a bit of bar up and attached it to the valve thingy. The arm is now swinging about freely, any ideas on how to fix it up? Are there any 'official' mounting points or anything nearby? I'm on axle stands rather than a ramp, makes viewing tricky.

It should have a little return spring, that looks to have been removed from yours.

If you fix it up with cable ties or similar it will be on max effort to rears.

I'll dig out a pic later if you're still non the wiser.

I couldn't see the adjustment nut in the first pic.

The spring on mine was attached to that small hook bellow the lock nut, spring was week enough to allow the arm to move down when braking but return to the up position when you let off. Is this the norm with most?
