Cup first impressions

  Tappd'd RS

picked up my new cup on sat, done just over 250 miles now.

The throttle would bite youre f**kin foot off! Its really hard to get a balance without reving like f**k when pulling away in 1st. The clutch seems a little rough too, not the smoothest getaway - any1 else agree?

Yep - Im always stalling mine trying to pull away with minimal fuss! Thought I was just an incompetent driver, but the clutch does seem to bite a bit too high and unless revs are dialled in it will stall, buit as you say its avoiding dialling in so many revs you look and sound like a maiden aunt in a Micra!

That is the improved throttle response that the cup ecu has over the standard 172 ecu. A topic of much debate, but now you have experienced it you can confirm it to all the charlatans that disagree...........

The normal 172 is the same

I do find it differcult to balance throttle also - but after a few miles you get used to it and you find that you can not drive anything else :D .

Exactly,

Also agree with charliecup.. you pick it up in no time.. wierd when you drive another car though..

I can pull away everytime without overrevving it.. only took about 10 minutes to get it right.
