Evo 8 MR
My friend has just had his 172 Cup fail it's MOT test. What's interesting is what they've put on the list, seems like the usual b****cks that a lot of places try it on with.
Here's what they've put:
Track rod end ball joints excessive play
Suspension excessive play
Brake binding
Coil spring fractured
Brake load sensing valve defective
Brake recording little effort
Front tyre illegal
Front brakes inbalanced
Emissions high
Here's the creme de la creme, they've quoted him £750 to make it passable...seven hundred and fifty quid! Where the hell did they get that figure from?....thin air!?
Now we are aware of the fractured spring and the binding brake so they are genuine but I know for certain there's plenty of tread on all four tyres and the exhaust is fine, however the brake faults look to be the fault thrown up in error due to it being a cup but I thought this was sorted by an update from the VOSA years ago?
They have seriously got to be trying it on, obviously I've told him to bring the car back home and get it done at a local place where I know the lads, only reason he's not done that is due to being based down south and the expiry date coming quicker than he anticipated etc. What a waste of time that was.
