Cup production delayed...

Gutted! Im off on holiday next week and the only thing that was keeping me sane was knowing that the week I get back Id have a shiny brand spanking new Cup parked outside.

Got an e-mail today saying that the Renault factory have bumped back 172/Cup production until 22 september so Ill not see mine until the middle of October at the earliest.

On the plus side, it does meen that the trade in price theyre giving me for my Mondeo, which theyve agreed to hold until delivery, will probably be more than the car is actually worth. Ill have to keep ragging it to try and destroy the tyres now just to get my own back!

Six more ****ing weeks! Suggestions please as to how I can stop climbing the walls and start sleeping at night again???

..oh no.. what date were you supposed to get it?

Renault told my dealer that mine would be delivered on the 14th of October...but if yours is delayed then id imagine that mine (a 172, not a cup)is too...

I take it that from your "172/Cup" message that its both 172 and Cups not just "172 Cups"....

...not heard anything from the dealer as of yet, they do keep phoning me when they get updates from renault...

Drink? That birthday bottle of Jack Daniels will be severly dented tonight I think!

The e-mail I got (from New-Car-Discount.com) referred to "Renault Clio 172s", so Im assuming it applies to both. Apparently production was supposed to have been starting this week, but now theyve delayed it by 3 weeks.

I never had an original confirmed delivery date but they said from mid to end of September, so a further 3 week delay means mid to end of October seems about right, if not SERIOUSLY UNFAIR!

Of course it could be New-Car-Discount making excuses from having a bad time with all the cars needing to be delivered during September, sticking me at the bottom of their delivery list, and yours might not be delayed at all.

my cars coming from New-car-discount too. Ive just sent them an e-mail asking them to confirm the delivery date. I ordered mine on th8th August and was originally told start of October. I dont think I can wait any longer!!!

I know exactly how you feel lagerlout1! The wait it killing me, especially if it may actually be longer! Although is it possible that new car discount arent actually giving customers dates from Renault? I know my order went off on the monday and it was wednesday after (2 days) before my dealer got a date from renault for delivery...

It would seem weird that you would order your car after me, yet get a "delivery" date before?

Im someone who can relate to this thread, Ive been told that the factorys been closed for august, order my 172 in July and had a message on the answer phone yesterday to say it will turn up at some point between 14-20th of October, the message ended with something along the lines of "err sorry".

Havent had a chance to speak to the sales person yet, but I want to confirm that If I have to wait I get the new spec that Ive heard mentioned (cruise control etc) in other threads.

i got my cup from New-car-discount too and they mucked me about with delivery dates and times for weeks. When it did arrive it was filthy and clearly hadnt been valeted by renault and the driver tw*t said well its been throught three showers of rain sir!!! Also cup door badges were missing. In the end though they supplied tha badges and paid £60 for a full valet so they came thru. Just grin and bear it.
