Hello Clio Sport Members,
We had some very bad original front hoses, replaced through our workshop recently. (9 years old)
This reminded me to post this information for everyone's safety:
The Clio front brake hose, like many cars , has an anti kink rubber sleeve on to the caliper end.
Pull this rubber sleeve back up the hose, (it is very tight) Wiggle and twist a bit helps.
Underneath the metal swaged part should look like the other end. (Unless that is rusted as well)
Typically it will be rusted away and the strength will be reduced with the risk of blowing off under pressure.
THIS RUST DAMAGE WILL NOT BE SPOTTED ON AN MOT TEST or by mechanics /owners as it is under the rubber sleeve.
Spread the word please.
Best regards, Mark Fish
