Daniels Blue 182.

I'm a tyre edge flush with wheel arch kinda guy! I don't like cars looking like the suspension is nackered but love a nice stance! I've got Cooksports on my 182 and I think they got the ride height spot on! :tongueout:

Do you have the rear bench still in mate? Im contemplating cooksports but wasnt sure how they would sit with the weight out the back?

  CLIO 182
I had them on with the 16's for a little while and they were fine with the rear bench in and the load of crap I cart about in the boot.
good to know mate, got a cage going in soon as well so im sure the weight of that will help it sit a bit better too. been contemplating the coilover game for a while now but just decided fooook it springs will be fine for now and i have heard some pretty decent things about cooksports.

how did you guys find them?

It is worth paying the extra Tbh. It's not only a stance thing but with the steel inserts they'll be safer than non steel inserts. I've seen many threads and in person of cheaper ones not fitting right. (The latter was on way to a track day! The bolt to hub bolt came loose and they had been lock tighted as it had happed before!)

Buy cheap, buy twice. Plus mine arrived next day

100% agree with Dr Jekyll, H&R are the only way to go.
We should organise a group buy on them.

Great price on the Bilsteins. It'll be looking great after you get them fitted, any plans for wheels? I love my car so much more without the (IMO obviously) horrific 182 wheels on haha.

Admittedly I really love the 182 wheels as standard but then again I really like the Turinis i'm not so sure tbh man! P.s I'll let you know when the front eibachs are off and will drop them off to yours when it's convenient for you!

Dear lord I haven't missed that place. Those ring binding machines were the f**king bane of my life. One little slip and you had to start again 😂😂

For my dissertation I finally found out how to use them properly with no issues though, 3 years later hahaha

Ant the Cooksports are spot on, great ride, good quality, the ride height is spot on and a good price! My 182 is a daily so all standard inside, they got the ride height nailed, the stance looks great and I'm sure a stripped interior won't make any difference to the appearance..

haha yeah they are pretty evil mate! the 400 odd pages for the thesis certainly gives you the practice and a bloody bad back too as it takes fecking ages!!

cheers gaz! yeah the price makes them ideal! no money atm so its a great compromise! Ive been driving essentially a rally spec clio since taking nearly 100kg out the car is now raised haha and with no spacers either it saddens me too look at it!! but the epic mpg and acceleration makes smile again haha

You'll love the bilsteins. Many people have been happy with them as they offer great road comfort as well as handling. Don't forget to keep your existing rear damper top nuts.

You'll never want to go back to standard ride height again!

Cheers matey! How easy is it to fit the rears? I haven't really looked at the rear suspension set up on these cars yet so I don't really know how to go about it.

I've just ordered a new clutch for £80 from Eurocarparts due to this thread here: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/ju...evs-dipping-when-coming-to-a-halt-etc.764018/

I remember when I got my cambelt done @Andyrg@ ClioTurbo said that he thought my clutch was on its way out anyway! That was 4 months ago too haha.

I've had the PilotSport3's on for 2 weeks now and I am really impressed with them in both the wet and dry. However, they really do start to degrade in performance in lower temps, which are to be expected as they are a summer tyre pretty much. I've had them losing quite a bit of grip in 5 degrees or less. Some quite scary moments coming off roundabouts etc. But overall i'm really happy with them as they stick to the road so much better than my mismatched budget tyres before!

Nothing else really to report!

My V6 spoiler and washerblanks is at the bodyshop and the guy who is spraying it is constantly keeping me updated with what's happening which is nice. This weekend is hopefully going to involve me and my friend Matty fitting the Bilstein B14's if they arrive in time. Me and @optical are receiving ours at the same time from Germany haha

I've also got the arch clips @williamsclio1 showed me but like his, mine are being stuborn and not coming out of the arches. Also going to clean the car this weekend and give it a winter detail :D

Sorry for the massive post haha not really like me but I have no pics :(

rear dampers are a piece of piss mate they practically walk them selves out, the bottom bolt can sometimes suffer from corrosion but nothing some lube and a blow torch cant solve. I lube mine daily 🙈 :yum:

I preemptively bought all new bolts for my damper refresh nothing worse in my eyes than fitting new dampers with crusty rusty bolts!! and a rusty hub!! yeeeeeeeeesh!! haha

As above, the rears are easy. The bottom bolts are 18mm. I can't remember what the top ones are (17mm?) but I'm pretty sure I read that the bilsteins don't come with the top nuts so you use your existing ones. Renault don't sell them separately either, they only come with new rear shock.

@Ant_Smiggy , :nut::smiley::nut: Dont suppose you have a little shopping list saved somewhere of the nuts and bolts etc that you bought? Were they from Renault ? Like you said, dont like the idea of using crusty old bolts. cheers mate.

Think the tops are 16mm and are a weird thread size quite surprised the Billies don't come with new ones that's a bit pikey lol surprised they even use the same pitch nut

Little update today, whilst waiting for my coilovers to arrive, which they still haven't @optical haha :( I thought i'd give the car a little winter detail and i'm really glad I did as per the pics will show, despite only claying it around 3 months ago loads of contaminants came off the paintwork.

I used the wax I got from @james24785 which is Natty's blue paste wax. It felt like I was just applying polish which is great, easy on and off. And now whilst typing this I can still smell it on my fingers, it smells lush!! My only issue is i've read it's not too great for longevity which isn't ideal for winter but next week i'm going to apply a second coat of it.

Started with some Bilt hamber auto clay!

Then applied Prima Amigo by hand along with the natty's paste wax. Applied meg's tyre dressing, auto finesse revive to the plastics and also sealed the wheels with poorbooys wheel sealant. Love that stuff too as it's so easy to remove.

After pics, it was getting dark and i'm definitely no photographer (exotic pictures of my street)! Thanks

I also received some pics of the washer blanks and spoiler mid way being done from my friend who works in the sprayshop. The spoiler has had it's first coat of primer in the pic, will be flatted back and given the second coat tomorrow. He's really putting a lot of effort into the spraying of it and it's filling me with so much confidence, it's great! :D

Haha, the primer reacted with the spoiler in the middle so it set him back a few days unfortunately 😧
Hi mate,
If possible can you ask him what primer works with the spoiler or what he did to get around it. Im still searching for somewhere to paint mine.

PM'd regarding that mate!

Wish I had time to clay my car [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

There's always time to clay :D

I've been spending more money on car parts. I genuinely can't stop!!

Ordered:

• A genuine boot cargo net as it was £9 on eBay (none left though in case anyone asks for a link :( )
• 10mm Pure motorsport stub axle rear spacers as I heard a few times that the 15mm's scrape
• 20mm hubcentric spacers for the front from @incy-spider
• Valeo clutch which is being fitted Friday

But anyway, the coilys came today which was fantastic service as that's a week from Germany. @optical got his within 5 days from Germany, awesome stuff!!

The opening was such a c**k tease as there were so many boxes!! haha
