daughters clio

  clio dci extreme
started a headlight refurb thread but thought i had better start a full refurb thread as there is loads of work to do LOL

copied from headlight thread

well gone and bought my daughter a car as she is sixteen now so got offered a nice little clio that needs a bit of tidying and some minor work ,but it was a bargain as it already has the 172 ph1 interior, it was a womans car with kids so you can imagine the state of the interior will get some pics up later .

thought i would give the headlights a going over as they were a advisory on last years mot so thought i would try and rescue them before spending on a replacement set

also purchased a 172 carpet and head lining so will get those scrubbed up and fitted this week

Those lights have come up great ! (I think I commented yesterday too?)

Are you planning on getting all Phase 1 172 bits inside ? I only ask as they are bluey, on a phase 2 they are grey.

cheers

the two tone dash doesnt look that bad with the interior to be honest as the door cards are light grey with alcantara inserts so look ok really ,as for the phase 1 bits i will be keeping the standard pillar covers as they are light grey and the door cards i have as stated are lightish grey as stated so look ok ,may get a sport steering wheel but otherwise think this as far as i will go with the interior for now ,need some nice standard renault alloys dont want aftermarket for insurance purposes will be around £2000 to insure as it is

Looking great, you should be able to pick up a set of 172 alloys pretty cheaply which will look great.

Sport carpet makes a big difference to the noise in these cars at cruising speed.

You're very lucky to not have a sunroof!

got seats back in , but need to get some better pics of completed interior ,its not immaculate but very very clean and wont stay that way once she gets her hands on it

IMG_3465_zps999a3ad6.jpg

anyway gave the paintwork a good couple of days machining and the results are very satisfying ,but still need to apply some proper polish and wax only done with 3m products to get paint to a decent standard

IMG_3470_zpsb8177ec2.jpg

also got her a set of alloy wheels (bargain at £60 with nearly new yokohama tyres) not to my taste but not my car and she likes them

got a couple of bits of paintwork to touch up yet so will leave the polish and wax till paint is done (drivers door step and a couple of scuffs on bumpers)

thanks for looking
