Only thing the map sensor does is cater for boost control.
we DO have a maf sensor, it's on the airfilter. I've found calibration maps for the 106 engine which show the maf goes to 1000+ so it should be able to read more than the 750mg/str it reads now.
i've had my boost press up from 1.25 upto 1.5bar and nothing changes regarding the airflow which seems odd to me!
Only when stabbing the throttle it will spike to 840mg/str but then settles again around 750...
think dci 80's are the same, must be as i cant get MAF reading on live date, only air temp and MAPDCi 65's don't have MAF sensors. The sensor in the air box of a 65 is an air temp.
No lift pump? When we do a filter change at work on the mondeos , we can't prime the filter as it won't bring diesel through.
But the jag xtype can prime through with a primer bulb ( both not fitted with then btw )
Yeah we ended up easy starting that Mondeo as it wouldn't go, gave it easy start and floored it to get the fuel through. f**king things
Your issue with boost in maps is related with single value boost pressure, which is threshold of air pressure limit in intake. That's the thing with calculated airflow and calculated injection. You can calculate exactly what it'll do!
mine runs a bit rich now as on the proper way i can't get more than 42mg/str in. By fooling the injection calibration i now spray around 50mg/str which is the pump limit anyway...
