De-cat on monday, and then round 2......!

I had the same thing happen on my 106 GTi
Basically, the lambda sensor had gone t!ts up and this eventually f*cked the CAT, which broke up and clogged the exhaust system!
Was like this when I got the car and Id only had it about 10 days when the thing lost a lot of power in the space of a couple of days, so I knew there was a problem.
Luckily, the warranty covered it so I got a new CAT, a full new exhaust and a new lambda sensor fitted all free of charge!
Made a hell of a difference to performance on mine, so when you get yours sorted you should be able to hold off that pesky VTS now!
k - Dont fancy dragging a 81000 mile williams across the continent! I was intending to get a de-cat anyway, but will be taking the knackered one back and asking for some moolah back!
Rob / Steve - I dont know what you mean. I definitely have a dead cat on my Willy and I cant get it off until monday
should prove to be my biggest challenge yet then mate he he, as per txt earlier ive already got a valid excuse in the pipeline, its a modified willy he he, and i know removing the cat releases a loada horses. well see next week eh. reckon as i thought before will happen now, you should take command in third, maybe before with the lack of cat. roll on round two

jon-yeh no worries mate im gonna have another play myself when ive got a bit more used to it and the 15s are back on, hopin for a low 17 sec to hundered an see if i can get low 7s to 60
top speed run last nite almost 140 on the limiter in 5th (on my own private runway of course)

Had the de-cat done. The cat was indeed totally bust and a large chunk of honeycomb stuff was blocking the exhaust system. The car is much, much quicker now
. Been out playing with a stopwatch and timed myself at approx. 17.5 seconds to 100mph a couple of times....with a passenger in the car. It does indeed fly to that limiter now. Only problem is that the people who did the de-cat seem to have caused another annoying buzzing noise and the back box is smacking against the underside of the car......back to them first thing tomorrow then.Ahhhh......much better. I can see what all the fuss is about now

rhys- u can borrow mine for a few runs shud be meetin up with jon in a few weeks anyway
can u do us a favor and measure how long ur de-cat is my hillpower 1800 one appears to be too short and the bolt holes are wrong, ive put my mongoose one on cos thats in two halves and rotates but it doesnt fit very well
