Omg!!? Awful.

Drying entire cars with blowers, using floor scrubbers on pains, leaning tools on paint, snow foaming then rubbing foam around with mitts. The paint will be fucked.

I haven't used my MFibres for a while. They don't seem as soft as before, I have a feeling I may have washed them with fabric softener?

Can I rejuvenate them?


I also need a good drying towel my trusty old CG waffle weave isn't very absorbent anymore.

I use the drying towels that they sell in Asda for about £4.

You can also get them on Amazon (Kent car care giant drying towel)

So I'm becoming a sad f**k like you lot and enjoying car cleaning, an activity I normally left to someone who came to this country on a lilo. Is it the cleaning or is it 2 undisturbed hours on a Saturday morning? Hmm.

Anyway - I have a very nice militek on my car that is as dull as the shipping forecast. What do you chaps use to bring them back to life? I had a looksee on the GTi forum and they were talking about using steel wool???!?!?!?! Having seen what it does to rusty garden chairs I am fearful about taking to my exhaust with it.

Product / instructions?! Pretty please and thanks.

Also thank you @Sunglasses_Ron for snow foam recommendation. Works an absolute treat!! The AutoBrite stuff is so so so poor in comparison.

It's 00 Grade that people use. But if it's just dull and not marked heavily I would just go at it with some autosol and a microfiber. It'll bring it up great.

I've had a rotary polisher for about 5 years and done little bits on my BG 182 with it. Not particularly skilled with it, just got a few scratches out with it using something quite basic like Meguiars Scratch 1.3/2.0. My rear driverside rear quarter has quite a few scuffs, scratches etc in it now and needs bringing back to life a bit. Is there anything people could recommend baring in mind I will be quite careful, but I'm a bit of a novice so I don't want anything too harsh on the paintwork. Just needs to get a few small scratches out and bring it back to life a touch.

Also I've done the head lights getting rid of the haze too many times now, but is there anything I can put on them to stop them getting weathered again so quickly?

As per my post in TIL I gave the derv it's first proper clean in months and months. Cleaned, clayed and given a coat of 50 cal cover up. Forgot what it looked like clean. The wheels were the hardest part but WW hot wheels brought them up a treat.

I bought a large bottle a few weeks ago. It really is very very good.

Not sure on durability yet obviously but I'll keep you posted

What would you guys recommend for mondial blue? I have a DA and a load of polishes. I really like using tripple to be honest.

Also got myself a Metrovac and its outstanding at blowing out the water from sills etc.

Britemax Vantage for me, i've gone off HD after using it for longer now, it'll last longer but not as nice to use and won't look like vantage.

If you want a bit of looks and durability Bilt Hamber Finis wax is a bit of a king. Can but a small 50ml pot alos.

I just love Vantage, if it was made by someone else in a different pot it would cost 3 times as much!
