Loads of waxes go over black hole. C2v3 goes over black hole and last 10 times longer than wax and keeps the car clean... But it's not a wax...

I have C2 V3. I just fancied trying a wax. Whilst I'd want it to last, I'm happy to top up once a month or so.

Tom I would go with Britemax vantage also. Boutique feeling. Durable for a couple of months.

Best of both worlds... Wax... Wipe down with a QD and c2 combo half and half i. A bottle. Something like fk425 and c2 mixture.

Haven't bought anything in years could do with a whole new kit I was in to the detailing quite a big way a few years back but haven't had the time for it what would people recommend I'm not afraid to use anything fussy an tend to like the longer lasting products over the apply constantly types what can people reccomed from shampoo up to sealants trim restores glass sealants etc

@Pearce For all types i tend to favour carpro. Bouncers and britemax are also very good with all products and won't find a bad one.

Where would be the best place to educate myself on what goes on top of what? By that I mean, polish, wax, sealant etc. What order? If the answers are in here then that's great I'll go looking. Just didn't want to read 264 pages and not find what I'm after lol.

For selling my vRS all I did was Tar X, Iron X then fired some Hydro2 Lite on and that was that (I really enjoyed using all those products too, very easy). Gave me the output I was looking for, a clean car looking pretty good for selling. However, when my new one - eventually - turns up I'd like to put a bit more effort in.

Hmm, think my worry with that stuff is that he's mentioned that you need to remove it sharpish from areas where it's not supposed to be. So if you get some splatter on the bodywork after driving for a bit, is it going to stain, or be a total pain in the hole to remove?

Also question for you all - best product for removing hard stains on interior plastics i.e. plastic door card/door pockets with marks that won't come off with fairy liquid and a microfibre cloth.

In all honesty it probably won't remove really baked on stuff.

If the wheels are really that bad then you might have to use some acid based wheel cleaner and just work fast with it so it's not on for too long.

For your interior I've had great results with Carpro inside.

Sooooo, I decided to get some Carbon Collective Hybrid which is similar to Hydr02 and WetCoat. It comes in a 500ml and is diluted 1:10 so will make 5L of product.

I'm just wondering if anyone has used one of these rather than a little crappy spray bottle? Thinking it may speed up the process a bit. Good idea? Bad idea?

For stubborn interior plastics stains try an all purpose cleaner which ever you have to hand and one of the magic eraser white sponges. The gentle abrasive of the sponge helps a lot. Carpro inside is a very good interior cleaner.

With regards to the wheels. If it is really bad then the silver bottled acid based super wheels is probably the best option for the initial clean. Bilberry is a generic wheel cleaner and pretty good, but is not one with the iron fallout remover. Something like carpro ironX may be a good idea to follow up the wonder wheels super alloy cleaner

I just thought it might speed things up if I can just do one continuous spray and just keep moving quickly over the car as to not use too much but get a nice coverage. I won't get one if it's going to use loads as I know these kind of products don't require heavy application.

I've always found that iron x is only any good for very lightly baked on stuff. Even the paste has limited results.

I know acidic cleaners are frowned upon and I very rarely use it. But for me it's a last resort and once it's used once there's no need to use it again if you keep on top of cleaning the wheels regularly.

James was saying that his wheels were really bad with proper hard baked on material so I doubt iron x will do the trick.

@Daniel linked me up to some genric acid based wheel cleaner that's obviouidy quite harsh but really does the trick on stubborn wheels.

One of our beemers at work had awful baked on s**t and I'd tried using iron x and iron x paste to get it off but it wasn't touching it. One hit of this acid wheel cleaner and the wheels looks brand new. You just have to work quickly with it.

IronX and paste is fine but will just require agitating and multiple hits on baked in stuff, fine if you have a bit of time and don't want to risk something acid based. I appreciate not everyone has the time though

Ah. Did you spend a while with each grit? And autoglym polishes aren't really any good for removing sanding marks.

If you can, pick up some G3 scratch remover from Halfords.

I'd add 1500 grit in between 1200 and 2000 then go to 2500+ if you're polishing by hand afterwards

Thanks, I'll get hold of some G3 and try that. If doesn't work will sand again and work back up.

I pick a pack up everytime I go to Costco, my other half thinks I have a problem as I've got stacks and stacks of them. Come in handy for loads of different jobs though including stuff around the house.
