Any ceramic will be OK but for ultimate protection I’d go PPF personally.

Mine have Carpro cquartz UK+ Gliss as that’s what I used on the paint.

P&S Bead Maker, such a slick finish.

First time I've tried it, which is probably not ideal at this time of year as it won't last long.

Ah ok. I heard ironically it wasn't the best at doing what the title suggests. But as you say good to use and looks great.

Yeah for £12 it's obviously not going to be better at beading than a premium wax or coating, but for a QD type application it's nice to use.

Meh, beading isn't too bad @imprezaworks

Paint cleaned with Lime prime. Then some Autosmart polish, wax planet glaze and topped with G3 Supergloss wax.

@gally I know you recommended Infinity wax's rapid detailer a while back and upon looking on there site, I see this:

Have you any experience with this?

Yeah I posted a video and images the other day on my business Instagram. Honestly? I prefer more down to earth products. It's cool at what it can do, but the jury is still well out I'm afraid.

It's a good spray sealant but I didn't enjoy it as much as rapid detailer. It just will last longer. If that's what you're looking for. I feel there are others out there I would grab before. Titan ultra for example has phenomenal performance.

My colleague who bought the graphene one got the watermelon one. Smells insane!

I still open my bottle of z6 for the nostalgia effect!

Rapid detailer still is tremendous. I had a massive batch of Autoperfekt products. All made in house by the company. Super impressed. Shampoo is better than infinity wax, and the nano speed wax spray is so slick. Been very impressed with initial testing.

They do a glass cleaner with anti fog which I'm testing also.

Any comments on the current market leading fabric top coating?

I’ve got gtechniq i1 but if that’s more suited to interior fabrics, I’ll use it for that.

I haven't really found one that I applied properly. Do kamikaze have one? I would trust that if applied properly.

Amazon Prime day today - anything on there worth picking up or stick with the specialist traders? I have next to nothing short of a mf wash mitt and pressure washer with foam lance. Car in pretty desperate need of a polish!

Hello boys and girls! Having left the car cleaning game for a while, I have just picked up and F80 M3 [emoji51] and I’m looking to get myself kitted back out with the essentials.
Will be looking to get it properly detailed and ceramic coated (recommendations for central Scotland would be appreciated also)
Snow foam - shampoo - wheel cleaner - leather cleaner/conditional - glass cleaner etc etc!
What do I use to top up the shine but not effect the coating?

@gally will be your man to either recommend somewhere or even do a coating for you.

Sort the first question. The guy who does the coating will answer the rest. Don't mix both of them up or you will undo the hard work and cost of the original idea.

Lot of guys in Central Scotland. Highest end.... Ronnie at Autobath Detailing. Gordon at Defined detailing. 2 of the most experienced guys in detailing. Both ends of the m8 essentially.

After them you have Gordon at NB Detailing in Livingston. Richard at RGK detailing. James and Ryan at NRJ customs. Alex at bespoke detailing also.

Many good guys with a massive portfolio and very nice guys to boot. All approved for different brands etc so that can make a difference.

Cheers mate! I will be sure to get in touch with them in the next few months.

Totally understand about getting products to suit the coating.

Short term however, before I get it done. Can you recommend some basics to get me started?

Two buckets with grit guards for starters, if you haven't already.

Carpro Reset shampoo
A decent wash mitt, Gyeon, Gtechniq, Carpro
A nice drying towel, Klin Duo or similar

I'm not a big grit guard guy, the tornado ones with the small holes are good but i'm never convinced by the swirling around inside the bucket.

Definitley 2 buckets. decent mitt. Look at a carbon collective set. Great products.

Starter pack, infinity wax shampoo.

Decent drying towel from Klin or the rag company one which one the pan the organizer group test.

Infinity wax rapid detailer, help dry and remove water spots, supergloss wax is good aswell just so you have one there. If you're looking for a spray sealant for speed, so many good ones. Ranging massively in price.

Glass sealant depending if you want spray on easy or one with a tiny bit more effort, carbon collective platinum glass, been very impressed so far.Easier to apply and remove than many others and a little does a lot!

Wheel cleaner, bilt hamber
Snow foam, bilt hamber

What microfibres are people using for buffing on and off spray sealants etc?

Don't suggest Costco Kirkland ones, got enough of them but only use them on the inside, door shuts etc. Want some nice ones solely for the paintwork.
