As requested by Tony above to "come on!" I thought I best update the thread,

IT DIDNT START!
It turned over but had no compression so obviously something wrong, I sourced another engine and swiftly swapped it over, the next weekend it was up and running, Everything is now done mechanically and just need to get the car vinyl wrapped. get myself a new crash helmet as I dropped it and chipped the paint (scrutineer wont pass it) and it turns out that I've eaten too many pies and don't fit in my race suit anymore, so a new one is needed too,
Here are some pics

I have a test day booked for the 7th of August so will know more after that as to when I'll be out racing.

Well, My shakedown didn't start off well!
Collected my trailer up yesterday afternoon after work and set off home to load the car and all my tools for today, Loaded the car whilst still connected to my car and left it on there whilst I had a cup of tea (it had already been a long day)
With time in hand I set about putting the trailer on the drive so I could park my car across it so no one nicked it during the night, It was a 5 am start so all I wanted to do was hook up and go, Reversed the trailer with car on top onto the drive, Stopped and then Heard a crash!
CRAP,,,,,, I've reversed the trailer into my new French doors!,,,,,,, Nope,, the French doors are ok and I'm about 4 foot away, So scratching my head and wondering what had happened I lit a fag and walked round the front of the trailer to find this![

The car had rolled forward on the trailer and wedged itself on between the windscreen and the tyre rack on the trailer, Wasn't quite sure whether I was going to laugh or cry,,, I chose to laugh incase anyone saw me, It was now 4pm and that screen wasn't going to useable on a trackday,
I found a new screen in Dagenham (30 miles away) but with rush hour traffic I was never going to make it, the guy there said he will be leaving dead on 5pm (thanks mate) Managed to ring a mate who lives close to there, He put down his cutlery mid dinner and shot down there for me WHAT A STAR
Oh! did I mention that the kids were over the parents and the wife and me had arranged a meal and cinema from 6pm, Yep,, Its now 5pm, got a smashed screen and a shakedown tomorrow leaving at 5am,
So, whilst my mate was collecting the screen I set about cutting the screen out.
Me and the Mrs still made our dinner date and went to the cinema, Once back from the cinema my mate came round to help me put the screen in,,, Its now 11.30pm....
Screen in and straight to bed (after loading the car up with tools in the dark.

What a legend my mate was and also a life saver as I'd spent a lot of money just getting the trackday sorted,,
Here we are arrived at Snetterton for 0730

Had a productive day with no real issues other than both bottom balljoints kept coming loose, The car went really well and setting consistant 2.23 secs laps.

Not sure what a good lap round there in a clio is but certainly upset a Clio 197 cup racer

Video is being uploaded now

My legs hurt, my wallet hurts but what an epic 24 hours, Really chuffed with the car and got done what was needed, so will be racing at Oulton Park on the 28th of September

Oh, I think I got one of my tyres a little hot!!!!!!!!!

That would it explain it Jay,
On TSL website it says Snetterton 300 but the lap times shown are under 3 mins,
Oh, and that Gripper diff is awesome.
Cant wait

Oulton park on the 28th of September, Don't feel I need to waste anymore time testing as I got what I needed from today, I can play around with tyre pressures on race day.

Car gets vinyl wrapped at the end of this month, need some new tyres, torn between Yoko's or Dunlops

  172 Race Car
Top man, straight into it. So many people drive around pointlessly 'Testing'

Edit: Then cant afford to race

  182cup & 172 racecar
Still telling me it's full.

Anyway.

Three of us spent a lot of time yesterday, going through the regs for the proposed production classes, trying to cover all the bit's and pieces.

Haven't started on the main series yet.

Steve keeps changing his mind about stuff, driving me mad!!

But we'll get there.

More progress on the car today and its getting close to my first race at Oulton Park,
Had a mate come round and help me with the vinyl wrapping today, I can see why companies charge so much to do it, but its acceptable for a race car and starting to look the part now,

Just stretch a piece over your drivers door tony and no one will see the dent!

Each panel is getting better as we go along, not looking forward to the bumpers though

  clio cup
Jamie,
If I hadn't of made the night out then I wouldn't of been able to afford racing after paying maintenance for my kids plus the solicitors fees!

But I also needed to test my car!!!!!!!!

  clio cup
It still amazes me how much you can stretch, shrink, stretch, shrink this stuff, Once you get used to working with it its pretty easy, Even if you cut a piece too short, just heat it up and stretch it!

Don't get me wrong, its doesn't look great close up, but at 4 foot it does look good,
The reason I chose wrap was the easiness of replacing a piece as it gets bashed, with almost no cost for painting, A bit of primer over the repair and another cheap piece of this stuck over it

  clio cup
Its just practice Mark,

Its definitely got easier the more panels I do and I hadn't wrapped anything previously.

Your right Pete, it does scrub up ok, lol really pleased with it
And just a finishing touch before my sponsors logo's go on
