Do brand new Renaults (Clios).............

Hey,

Do brand new Renaults get made in France or Germany then shipped over?

I have got a service book with my renault and it has what seems to be a pre delivery check in french or german a few days before the car was registered!

nope im not sure but dont think it is! Is an import classed as been registered in another country first on a different plate? coz this has been on same british plate all its life

The pre-delivery check that is in the service book is done at the dealers. There is no pre-pre-delivery check that would be written in a foreign language.

irc they all get checked at the import center in southampton then the dealer pdi's it when it gets to them

see if it has an alarm switch on the slam panel. if not, it's almost certainly a parallel import

Call Renault Customer services in the morning. 0800 072 3372.
Give them the VIN and they'll tell you if it's an import.

Pre-delivery check is done at dealers...

the main pdi are done as they come in the country before dealers i used to PDI and fit all extras on kia's and mercedes at killingholme/immingham docks

Only cars made at Dieppe now are Clios.

Right I have found out, my car was made in the factory in France then shipped to Belgium where it stood for 2 months, then it was bought brand new by someone in England.

So the car was shipped over here and registered in England and is not an import!

All Clio's currently delivered to Australia are all made in the Renault Sport factory at Dieppe in France (it helps that they only sell the Renault Sports here). In fact my 20th Edition even has a plate telling me so.

It has all of the above, it is an English spec'd English car

Yer so you could look at anycar made abroad been a so called import. Just mine got shipped to England via elsewhere. As yours prob did, maybe!
