Dodo Lime Prime

ok so im probably way behind the times here, but i bought some of this a month or so back but ive only just got around to using it

jesus its SO good, reminds me of CarLack68 a bit in its cleaning ability, it was removing little bits of tar etc and didnt half affect the colour (faded blue Corsa)

its a shame its so pricey (all the online stores charging so much for delivery doesnt help either) but ill definitely be buying it again

just have to use it on my own car now :)

I've never really looked into this properly because I've got anough products as it is!
I'm guessing its a pre-wax cleanser? When/Why would one use it?

It is a paint cleaner. I used it on my DA with a finish pad just to clean the surface up abit first. Its fantastic stuff.

whats the best way of using LP by hand? I've been searching through the threads and everone uses a machine polisher with it.

do I use foam pad or MF cloth, wet it first or leave dry? How long should I spend on 1 panel and how much should I use per panel. Or should i just stick with the SRP until I get myself a DA polisher

So you're all finally seeing sense...

I use this on a good 80% of my details. It's great stuff.

I've tried using it by hand and really wasn't that impressed with the results over using SRP. Maybe the benefit ony becomes apparent when using with a machine pollisher.

In terms of what, Dave? Scratch removal? Because if so, don't forget that SRP is a filler, whereas LP isn't - so your paint will look better with SRP for a few weeks... but then the fillers will wash out!

I completely understand what your saying, but i didn't get any real kind of correction from it even on minor scratch/ swirl on the top of the rear bumper by the bootlid. Maybe I just didn't put enough effort into it.

It gave a great base, clean surface for applying a sealant over, guess I was expecting results spoke about on here with machine polisher correction. I'm certainly going to try it again with maybe a deeper cut pad on the Mrs' car and see if I can get a bit more out of it. Would I really have to work it hard/ build the temps up before the compound would break down and begin to work, would the cold weather have affected it in any way

Cold weather may have affected it, but to be honest, by hand you are never going to get the sort of correction Russ, Gally, Jim etc and I talk about, as we use it via machine.

Both will simply be only of use as a paint cleanser by hand chap. The amount of correction will be minimal by hand.

Be interested to see how P1 from GTechniq fairs by hand - initial demo videos would suggest well!

Just watched the video of the P1 applied by hand, that was the kind of thing I was expecting TBH from the Lime Prime.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the P1 with hand polishing pad now :approve:

When I used it, I forgot my DA so had to do it by hand. I still found the results to be better than when ive used SRP in the past.

You really can't compare the two. One is a filler with very mild cutting action, the other is a paint cleanser.
