Drove my Valver for the first time today

  Clio 172

Drove my valver for the first time today (17 today) god it dont half go! Just taking it around a car park aswell so not fast! Just the excelleration is mad (so crazy I done a few skid starts by mistake.) Dont take much to get the car to go as I sort of knew but not that much.

Until now dad has been insured to drive it (maybe should keep it that way, lol)

Reverse is very sensitive aswell

Mummy lol

Yes and god and now I can see why people were saying watch out. Dont take much to make it move (even in a car park taking it easy)

Go careful. Its very slippery at this time of year. Even when the road appears to be dry it can still catch you out.

Have Fun!

Im paying £750 a year fully comp in my name.....Happy now? I consider myself to be a very safe driver only driving to the limits of myself and the car, not all of us r mental tw*ts!!!!!

Everyone should book themselves on an advanced driving course, either with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (hard) or RoSPA (very hard).

I need to go on another one as Ive not driven for 18months and my driving is now crap. You will learn a lot about reading the road!

Where abouts are you clio-16-valver? In Essex the IAM are doing a thing where you pay the £75 up front and they refund it when you pass the test, so it is basically free, plus you drive better and save money on the insurance by not having to claim on it because (hopefully!) you wont have the accident you might have had otherwise!

And Little Newms, I hope youre looking into it... ;) I may well see you there! lol

Hey Clio 16 Valver

Its great to see another 17 year old with a valver as a first car. Thought i was the only one. Take it easy though as said above we dont want a I crashed my car thread. Im been careful with mine since Bubbles would personally kill me if i hurt it! Hope to see you at a few shows in the future. Im just in the process of getting mine ready for the summer shows.

Steve

Nice...just remember there IS a reason that insurance costs so much at your age. Have a look through some of the pictures in the the crashed cars thread in the media forum. I was lucky to roll my first car into a field on my first day of insurance after I passed my test - taught me a short sharp lesson and no mistake.

Enjoy the car but remember its a tin foil box :)

what i mean is u said u paid the insurance thus you must have worked or saved hard for it. cos loads of folk always say rich c**t, wasnt meant as a put down, sorry if it looked that way, if u ever stack the car first dibs on the engine??? u go to cults ??

hey, im from aberdeen as well, (newtonhill - if you know where that is!!) nice first car by the way!!! wish i could afford one!!

Justin

  Not a Clio

just remember theres no driver aids on a valver - no abs, tractions etc

Take it easy this winter, only takes a fraction of a second to write a car off or land you with a huge bill.

Yea bit of a difference between a 1.4 orion and a williams. This is my first car tho! I must be mad.
I hate to say, but if this is your first car then you wont fully appreciate just how good a car it really is. Reason being is that you dont have any thing to compare it against.

I had an MK4 XR3I (red) lol for my first car (hardly 16v pase i know) while all my mates at the time had 1.1 novas, 1.0 fiesta etc.. They all told me i was lucky to have a 1.6ltr @ 17yrs but i didnt think anything of it becuase it was my first car.

Then a 2yrs later i bought my 16v and f**k me could i notice the difference! It was like jumping into a F40 from the XR3i (not that i would know what thats like!) it held the road amazingly and felt like a proper sports car compared to the escort.

anyway what im trying to say is, even tho you can tels its a nice & quick car, you will never fully appricate it becuase its your first car. I just hope you dont end up writting it off like i did with my first car. Your insurance is high for a reason.

Take care of it fella!
