.......ok, I know someone who has some a spare set of 16" 172 wheels! We are gonna try them on mine to see how they look and if they will rub etc........Now, not knowing much about offsets and things like that, my question to you all is.........will the 172 wheels fit straight on???? are they ok and right for a dynamique???? offsets n all??? help!!! i cant wait to see how they look

yeah mate they will, i have got them on mine. i aint sure what the off sets are but they do fit and i can still get full lock and thers no rubbing.

cheers Rob, someone i have spoken to on here before says ya need spacers, thats the only thing that puts me off!!! So, once i try my mates, if its all good, it will just be a case of finding a MINT set to buy from a loving 172 owner lol!

i am thinking of selling my wheels, they are mk 2 172 16". i wont be sellin them till late august though after holiday when i can afford 17"s.

One good thing is that the 195/45 tyres look so much better, the 185/55s are tractor tyres!

I also worked out the 16s with them tyres there is 3mm less in height so less rolling resistance and more grip, result.

Alright mate. The 16s will fit fine on the front but the rear will rub slighty on the shock and inner arch. This is due to the 172s wider track. To solve the problem I have fitted 3mm spacers on the back. These cost £12 from merseyspeed, you can also get them from halfords.

i told you 16s wth 195/45s have a less overall height!

I havent noticed the car to be any slower.

Rob is correct the overall height is less than the 15s so the car should be quicker but their is also an increase in weight.

What I want to do is compare the times with my ap-22. (When i can be arsed changing the wheels)

they wouldnt have less overall height than my 195/50 15s tho Rob......... im just wonderin what the weight differences would be wi the std wheels n the 16s tsws. there is a 172 on ere wi apex n 17" reflex, looks mint!! got pics of ir from the FCS too

The 16s would make you car slower as the diameter is 582mm compared to your 577mm.

Dont know about the weight difference.

these differences are negliable tho!! i would have thought that going from 185/55 to 195/50 would have slowed it down more, with there being more rubber on the road! really, gettin some nice 16s should be ok, im just trying to justify the £600 lol!!! ouch

I have them! Front fit no prob but back rubs a little when going round a right hand corner on the inner plastic arch. I cut a bit of the arch now and they are fine now. Not noticed any loss in speed.

There is a 1.2 pre facelift with those near me, to be honest it dont look all that, but then im not a fan of aftermarket looking cars so i could be biast! Id fit the Mk172 wheels on first before whipping out the credit card.

well........i cant make up my mind Rob!!!! i think i might just save myself some cash......lower mine 60mm on std wheels..........and get my windows tinted instead!!!! still keeping the car looking subtle........like i always said i would!!!!!!!! hmmmmmm, cheers Rob, u have helped my make a decision lol!!!!! I actually really like the Dynamique wheels, im only changing them because theres so many Clios about. Im getting worried everyones leaving me behind with the measly 35mm drop im getting! Youre going all the way there just to get tints?! Im hoping to get some Pentagon Supaglass fitted soon, non tinted though.
