E36 M3

Car  120d Sport
For anyone thinking of getting a E36 M3...

Here is a couple of clips of mine...3.0 version with Dave.F custom induction kit and supersprint race exhaust system. (LHD)

RR @ 301BHP

I used to take the piss out of Golf R32's in this and wasted many a scooby. You can really launch these things from the lights (in the dry)

all for under £6k.....£4800 for the car....£200 induction kit...£1000 exhaust system.

Turn it up and enjoy !

very nice wheels, I used to have an e36 320i. Love the sound of the high revving straight six. Have you heard the theory that the e36 wasn't really a true M car? The head of the M devision wasn't happy about it or something...

Not heard that...but the best M in my opinion was the E30.

I miss my M3.

Love the sound of them as well plus you get good MPG for the performance.

I 'looked after' my mates M3 a year or so ago while he was on holiday, very nice car that, couldn't live with the running costs though. But very nice looking, nice to drive, fast as hell.. it was an L reg & looked like new inside & out.
He had a blue one, wanted that techno violet (that what it's called??) but wasn't any around & he's inpatient lol.

M3 is on my (quite long) list for a next car if/when the vx220 has to go. What are the running costs like? I've heard stories of mega repair bills and expensive parts.

Running costs are not as bad as everyone thinks....

I would recommend the 3.0 5 speed M3's over the later 3.2 6speed Evo's as the common fault with the evo's is the double vanos system packing up, which is very expensive to fix.

The 3.0 lumps are bullet proof....regular servicing is all you need and you don't need to take it to BMW there are plenty of specialists about.

Fuel consumption is not bad...if you give it sum it does drink :) and to tell you the truth youre not going to buy one of these if your not going to give it some stick as most of the power is above 5000rpm!

Insurance can be a problem.....

27 5 years no claims elephant £800 Fully comp garaged and CAT 1 Alarm.

Looks and sounds great dude.

Your right about fuel being good until you boot it. when your foot hits the floor you can see the gauge go down :)
