Before anyone renews with elephant go online and do a quote of your own and see how much it is. Got a renewal quote of £597 through the post for my 1.6, went online as advised by a mate who had a similar thing with his impreza (they want £1200, he put identical details in online and got it to £987) i got mine down to £450. So do not take their renewal offer.

When i told elephant on the phone i was going with tesco instead of taking their renewal quote, they instantly reduced their quote by about £150...

mcoppen it totally right - my renewal was a joke, I spoke the a bird about it after hours (i think it was a call centre ) and the cheeky b*tch wanted to charge me more than the renewal !!

I called up the next day during office hours, told them the quote I got on line gave them the reference number & asked them to match it, or I was off elsewhere - they matched it !!!

I got my renewal from Elephant for my 182 for £750, up from £700 even with an extra years NCB.

Went to Admiral and they quoted £500 so went back to Elephant and told them this, they said thay they couldn't match it even though they are the same company, call centre etc....

£2400 is ludicrous for a car no matter what it is.

I'd never pay that, I'd sooner swallow my pride in a lower spec car for a few years.

Always add a second driver with elephant as it'll bring the quote down.

Also, yes, don't go with the renewal. Run through a quote online and it's always cheaper and give them the reference number and they have to match it.

I got myself (30, with 7yr ncb & one claim), my lass (25, with 0ncb and one claim) and my mother, all on for £651 f/c.

I'm insured with direct line at the min £470 for the year. 5 yr ncb.

Just bought a v6 and DL quoted me £1000, Adrimal can do it for £720 with NCB protected.

Tryed loads of companies and know one else got anywhere near.
Thought that was pretty good.

i'm with Adrian Flux. The cheapest i could find. 7 years NCB protected. I.A.M . No crashes. Essex postcode, kept in the street, £490. i once had a G reg Escort RS Turbo at 20, £3600 was the cheapest. i sold it quickly.
