Engine bay loom sheathing/taping

Thought I’d Chuck this up, the plastic conduit/loom wrap in my engine bay is cracking and looks absolutely disgusting. Have many people removed it and re taped the engine loom in situ? If so did Tessa rape suffice? Does anyone have pictures of their loom taped for a bit of inspiration? Specifically around the inlet and injector wiring, which is where I’d like to concentrate first?

Pull the loom out and do it on the bench. Might need to depin/repin some connectors but apart from that easy enough. Id run the original style plastic conduit in areas that might chafe, could tape the rest if you wanted or use braided cable sleeve and finish the ends with heatshrink.

I'd avoid tessa as it would potentially hold moisture. I don't recall anyone actually refreshing this before

I'd get the selection of pins that allows you to remove the plugs too personally

I re-sheathed my loom earlier on this year as I wanted 1) a winter job 2)an easier to diagnose easier to work with loom, 3) just something I always wanted to do.
I couldnt remove much as the 750 Race regs states OE loom must be retained, But I simplified it where I could tying back unused wires (AC, carbon canister, 2nd lambda, etc) back to one location. I used Durite overbraid as its a 'little' more heat resistant than the cheap ebay overbraid and not silly money. Used glue backed heat shrink then a Label write and Clear heat shrink to ID each connector.

That looks great and exactly what I hope to do. I’m going to do some spot tidying of what’s in view of the loom over the coming weeks. But longer term plan is to board a spare loom over the winter and do exactly as you have.
