Just a quick pick of the engine, Suggestion and comments (positive or negative) welcome as looking to tidy it up.

Manifold is in the middle of bein polished and fuel rack protector will be tidied. Polished strut tops should arrive today...

Same battery cover! How did you support it from both vibrating and hitting the + and - Terminals!?

Will look good once the mani and fuel rail is polished. Whats the red thing?

The red thing is a button but im not sure its exact function. Will relocate it soon enough.

I made right angled brackets so the battery cover is about 2 inches off the battery, no chance of it shorting. and runs flush with the battery bar.

There are two, both go to the original holes for the OE airbox

Got it off ebay mate, but as I say needs a bit of work to get it to fit...

... or if your a bit simple just use a block of wood. Lol.

Not sure if i am gonna polish the fuel rail as it might be a bit much bling, if you know what i mean. Maybe just a really good clean....

Got the brace from OMP in red, but sent it to a body shop who colour matched it with the car.

Only had the car three months much to do yet, getting blue samco's, probably a maxogen IK, battery cover and tops also, HP bend.

I thought it looked like the OMP, tidy job!

This is mine at present, i have taken the anodised bolts off though.

Gonna ditch the engine cover and get the manifold and fuel rail cover into a polishers. Also get a strut brace and strut top covers.

red button is the inertia switch

has like a ball bearing in it that knocks out when the car as a serious bump. press it and it resets

just cuts the supply to the fuel pump.
you can tap it hard on the side and it will cut off. quite funny to do to your mates when they have their bonnet up. they s**t themselves when the car wont start again!

where does the blue pipe fom your t/b go? mine n rich cars dont have them? we both got mrk1s but urs n c/c has this pipe and there both mrk1s?

I love polished bits, painted my cam cover to on mine.

Who did you get to polish yours??

Mine cost 80 quid to get done, but will be buying the kit to do this sort of work at my place in the future.
