engine bay tidy up.

looking to tidy up my engine bay over the next couple of weeks,

wanting to spray the inlet manifold black has anyone got an idea of wot the best thing to use is ?

also was woundering has any one got any clever ways of cleaning the header tank with out buying a new one cause mines filthy, i am changing the coolant and think it make the bay ooks soooo much cleaner with with a clean coolant bottle.

my inlets are painted with a normal rattle can of matte black paint. rocker is also painted with a normal rattle can but silver. works fine and hasn't chipped at all yet.

header tank can be cleaned with normal shampoo or any cleaner tbh. wont come up crystal clear but clean enough.

Can the black bit by the engine mount be removed easily? Nothing to worry about / take care with?

Yep i did mine with normal halfords paint, two years on its still fine.

fuel rail paint was drying in the paint oven. why?
its on now, also matte black. not really needed tho.

I actually like the look of the rocker sprayed silver, looks proper oem but clean as f**k.

Does the inlet plenum even get that hot? It's only channeling cold air right?

Any heat it picks up will be from the the surrounding heat in the bay from other parts.

No the Inlet plenum dosent get hot, but the rocker cover gets red hot.

If the surface is nice and clean then the paint will stick fine and shouldnt go wierd

Isn't the point of it to protect the car spraying fuel everywhere in the event of a crash which can't be good!

hammerite i would say my dad paints all of his bike engines with it and they never flake or change off the heat!

Sorry to drag up an old thread. I had to remove my guard rail to allow me to bolt up the inlet when the thread in the lower inlet let go. Have to just removed the 2 long bolts that held the guard on? Could i just do that also and replace with some 10mm bolts?

Plastikote stove paint. Absolute doddle to use, dries really quick and if a mong like me can get it looking like this anyone can. I have ZERO patience!

What type of filter and strut bar do you have, Danith?

It's just a universal cone with the 90 degree stainless beaded elbow off eBay with a Hill power bend (with breather).

Strut brace is a BADLY painted OMP one that came with the car in red and rust! Needs powdercoating really but CBA.

I really like the look of this!! I was going to get mine polished... Anyone know who can do it? In or not too far away from Warrington?
