Engine flooded trying to fix need help

Dumped clio into the floods and filled engine to max, stripped top off and sparks out, turned over to empty water replaced oil and run engine, initially very noisy like tractor tappets but after a few hours of running it got quieter, now quiet on start up but then starts to get tappety and odd, have driven a fair bit and drives exactly like before but with noise, I have read about dephaser but what with water damage I know it could be hydro taps. Any help would be great fully recieved and if there is anyone that knows a decent place to get it checked in Somerset without being ripped off that would be great too

Tbh it can be many issues causing the noise, but I'd like to see it before even diagnosing the noises source.
