Engine Swap - 172/182 into 1.6 16v?

Hi there,

I have a clio intiale 1.6 16v, I'd like to fit one of the 2L engines. I assume these will be quite easy to come by?

How straight forward is the swap? what parts will be needed etc..

You need more than just the engine best get everything from Matt at Renault specilaist brekaer £1.5k but thats everything you need gearbox suspension front brakes etc.
Its not that bad but you need a good garaeg and crane etc would take about a week to do depends how good you are and help you get etc.
You can do a Mk2 2 or mk2 phase 1 swop since everything has to be swopped wiring wise its no problem which you choice I'd go for a Mk2 phase 1 as the throttle is better in mine and other people views the Mk2 2 throttle is electirc so fails a lot more and isn't as responsive.
