Engine ticking noise on my clio 172 sport

Hi people just registered with the site got a question if you can help that would be great.

I have a 2002 clio 172 sport just had cambelt changed and now i have a ticking noise coming from the cam area can anyone help me plz or just point me in right direction

Where was the cambelt done? Is the idle rough or just ticky and does the car have a "kick" at 5k rpm?

If its got a rough idle and has lost the 5k boost then it's more than likely the timing is out

Are you sure its not the carbon canister solenoid? That's not a million miles away from the area discribed.

Take it back to the company that did the change and explain the situation and your concerns. It's possibly a tensioner fault but it could be something else unconnected like the charcoal canister.

It has apparently surfaced since the belt change though so needs looking at as a matter of urgency.
