Engine wont run for more than 3 seconds.... :(

Well was fitting a set of fogs to my car today and was wiring it all in... all was going amazingly well right up until the point I started the engine....

It runs for 3 seconds then cuts out, the head lights dont work, nor do the side lights, the front incdicators dont work (on the wings or the head lights) although all the back functionality works... lights.. indicators... the lot!

So I think I may have knocked a wire loose at the back of the fuse box im praying to god right now there is no way I could afford an ECU

Anyway any light on the situation may help all fuses are in tact in the passenger side or under the bonnet. Nothing has tripped imobiliser light goes out when key is turned serv light is constantly on the ABS light is on (I dont have ABS) my mechanic couldnt get into the ECU with all 3 of his machines they couldnt communicate with it so im assuming this points to a wiring problem

Wow sounds like you done a right job on that considering you were only fitting fog lights.

How exactly have you wired the new fog lights? Don't spare on the details please.

There is the loom which runs from both fog lights to the relay then a wire from the relay to the positive on the battery then a wire to the negative on the battery (I removed the negative terminal to do this) then 2 more wires from the relay run into the cab where they wasn't connected to anything just yet

You don't need that.

Im pretty sure theres a connection on the engine loom ready for the fogs lights allready, there is on mine so should be on yours :/

My car never had the fogs as standard I bought a secod hand full set off eBay

Fogs and surrounds
2 looms ( the loom behind the bumper and the loom that it connects to with the relay)
Relay and inline fuse on the live wire
And indicator stalk

Does the car work if you unplug everything and start again?

I disconnected the battery took each fuse out one by one then checked them all put the positive back on the battery then the negative locked my car with the key fob unlocked it then tried that and failed

reverse everything you have done and see if it works

I set it back to exactly as it was before hand ( disconnected all the wires from the fogs and fog loom) still no luck I'm afraid

Have you checked all fuses under the bonnet too?

PHEW! got it sorted thanks guys... I was messing under the bonnet and scuttle yesterday and unbolted the main loom harness from the car and never bolted it back on -.-"

They are mate haha told my mechanic to fit them properly whilst I was there so I didnt break anything else Only charged me 10 pound

They came with the full kit so im hoping genuine lol

and Yep all wired in correctly if theres a flat battery thread... Ill give the fog lights to someone else on here free of charge from my trouble ! haha

Tell me about it mate im sick of seeing that cracked plate how much are they? Where do I get them from what documentation do I need to prove im the owner of that plate?

Ebay is alot cheaper, and you don't need to present documentation or anything
