Engines whats best to do 2L 16v

put a williams bottom on a valver head? (heard this was good)

put a full williams engine in?

also what else would i need for the williams engine? new ecu? new gearbox? clutch? starter motor? etc?

what can stay what has to be changed/uprated ?

If you can find a willaims lump lob that in, but you will need the ecu or a chiped ecu (hillpower). Otherwise a megan bottom end on a reworked head (Ben R) will see good gains.

All you really need to go with an F7R block is a starter motor as they are smaller on the 2.0L.

If your getting the head worked, it dont really matter if its a willy or 16v one.

Mat.

you need the 2ltr starter and ecu, block, 1.8 flywheel (if off a megane), willy head gasket and timing belt.

std 16v head is fine. if your not planning much.

so id need the starter and ecu for a full williams engine? valver gearbox and clutch is ok?

oh and how much a willy engines usually? is 750 a good price? how much would gettin the conversion/swap cost on top of that?

i wouldnt pay 750 for an engine......madness.

you need the starter yes, and box/clutch is fine but will give you a lower top speed, not that it matters.

willy clutch is nicer though.

but would the valver box make it quicker to 60 as it can do it in 2nd then? and how much is an engine worth?

people pay well over the odds for willy engines.

And youll still need to shift into 3rd as its shorter ratio.

ok im lost if a valver box with valver engine can hit 65 in 2nd y cant a willy engine with a valver box? surely gear box is same so ratios are too?

Different box and the williams has diffent ratios on a few gears but id have to look up.

And the willy doesnt rev as high....so less speed for the same gear.

no i mean keepin the same valver box ben, not usin a different one. wouldnt that also make the willy engine rev just as high too then?

Ben, I think Ben meant its got a shorter rev range, thats why youd still have to change into third on a 0-60 run

the willy engine as std doesnt rev as high, so on the same box it wont reach teh same speed in each gear. not that hard to understand is it, the box doesnt affect max rpm.

yes, hence i said std, cause he was talking of a std ECU.

And on the same note a valver can be made to touch near 8k sensibly and erm, go quite fast in second lol.

is this just a case of removing/resetting the limiter or do you have to do some strengthing of components etc to do it safely? On my engine, hitting the limiter the engine sounds like its gonna go boom (HP stg 2 chip)!

You need to be making power higher up the rev range otherwise its useless having the rev limit increased.
