Enigne Mounts



Think my engine or gearbox maybe going as im gettin a banging noise everytime i change gear, and the geartsick moves around alot while driving. Can anyone tell me wheather im looking at the right area, and if anything looks wrong. Have included some pictures of the drivers side visiable mount, at least i think it is.

Nope its your dogbone mount causing the problems. Its under the car attaching the gearbox to the firwall of the car. (I'll get a picture in a second)

£35 or so for one from Renault

Thats top mounts fine the 172 /182 one is different.
 
ok thanks m8, such a quick reply! would really appreciate the picture of the dogbone, have u got any of it from looking underneath the car?

Here's a not very good picture of the part only 2 bolts hold it in.

So Edde, if i buy a new dogbone mount, i get the actually mount and the new rubbers, or do i have to buy them individually?

Mount comes with new rubbers pressed into them./
You can just buy new rubbers if you want but for the cost and effort its not worth it.
 
Edde, i got a picture of mine from under the car earlier, gonna upload it in a sec. Can you tell by looking at it, if it needs replacing?

From what you've said yes it does need replacing.

Cannot realy tell you need to remove it and see if the rubbers cracked.
