Exhaust back box and tail pipes polish (Mugen twin loop content)

So I picked up a relatively cheap backbox for the Teg, and need to spruce up the box and tailpipes before I put it on.

What's best? I have autosol in the garage, and that brought some polished headlights back up to scratch. But I'm guessing an exhaust needs something more abrasive?

I used wire wool and autosol on my Kakimoto when I got the Teg, came up like new.

I use autosol and wire wool. I have the megs metal polish (yes it's spelt like that - no idea why!) but it's not as abrasive as the autosol.

I use this stuff on my tips, never been bad enough to use wire wool so I just use a microfibre, comes up like new everytime. Brilliant stuff!

What's the idea behind the looped back box?

Is it for back pressure or to control noise?

I believe the twin loop is bypassed at high exhaust pressure/speed. But on idle and low rpm it loops twice and is therefore nice and (relatively) quiet.

That's at least the plan anyway. With having a 5 month old, my car has had a curfew for a while now.

I have a few good metal polishes if you want to try some out?
Auto Finesse Mercury is my go to at the moment.

I love the DC5, they don't look or feel their age at all.
Here's a 15 year old one I worked on last month.
