Exhaust - problem? Any ideas pls

I had the GDI exhaust fitted about 2 months back on my 182 and it's been okay BUT... over the last week I've been hearing a hissing noise (pssshhhhh sound) coming from the exhaust when speeding up in 1st or 2nd gear - nothing hard as well - just normal pick up.

Once the car is warm, the hissing does stop in both 1st and 2nd gear...??? This never happened before, any ideas on what it could be?

Get the car jacked up, start it up and get somebody to cover the exhaust at the back with an old cloth or something so that it blocks it. you will be able to hear/feel if it is blowing.

If it is, clean the area up a bit, and put some exhaust sealant putty round the place its blowing at (probably the joints; likely place as its stainless so it would'nt be a hole in it).

That should do it.

Maybe they fitted a turbo and the whoosing sound is it spinning up?!


Or more likely it's blowing somewhere, probably where it meets the cat, if you're local pop back in to see them sure they will sort it out.

If not pop into a local exhaust place who should also be able to sort it.
