Fallout : New Vegas

Absolutely loving this so far.

Only done the first part of the main quest, then moved on to ridding the NCRCF of the Powder Gangers.

Loving Hardcore mode, too. Really adds some much-needed difficulty since I thought Fallout 3 was a bit too easy after Lv10. You could just spam Stimpaks when you were in trouble.

No chance with Hardcore mode on! Love it.

Looking forward to this. Just had a skim through the guide book earlier - Jesus!

Bit disappointed there's no Bobbleheads to collect, though.

Think iv punched in about 2 hours in now and im not sure of the game, just keep running back and forth does my nut in as you cant sprint to make it quicker, doing the same as christopher now with the powder gangs just cant find a silver tounge to bribe the old lady, anyone know were it is?

ffs. its pretty glitchy. and I am now stuck as this one guy in some building is invincible, ie, you shoot him it takes heath and then he instantly regens. "escaped convict" I think. i chucked dynamite at his head FFS.

Ummm, you don't need a literal silver tounge

I've seen a few scorpions stuck inside the landscape so far, so nothing particularly to worry about in terms of glitches.

LOL. You need the right speech/sneak points.

Just a head's up, if you fancy going strait to Vegas, don't head north. I encountered about 5 giant Deathclaws and got battered to f**k :dapprove:

hmm, i did the first little quest to help ringo so now the powder gangers hate me which is fine.

once id done that i set off to primm and on the way i walked past a powder ganger camp on the side of the freeway... obviously they attacked me because they hate me but they were easily dealt with.

i thought i'd have a look in their camp for goodies and i got negative karma - bit strange because i only defended myself and it's not like proper stealing because the owners of the camp were dead :( no fair.

Well ive done ten hours. I've rinsed Nipton of anything livin fucked over the roman c***s so now hated by one of the largest factions on the game, visited the prison dressed as one of the sugar hill gang thought id mince my way over the mountain behind it to only have my arse board out by a blind deathclaw WTF lol anyway got cracking again im currently sorting primm out with a new sherif and im at the NCR mojhave checkpoint (two big statues on a mountain). Mum n dad go away in an hour or so n ive only just gone to bed as there getting up!

sounds like I'm playing it pretty similar to you BIFCAIDS, I think tearing the guys at Nipton a new one is pretty much a given. I set those motherf**kers on fire! ;)

i did something by accident in primm

i sent the renforcements to primm (instead of getting a pardon) from the mojave outpost and this seemed to stop meyers becoming sheriff (which i thought might be more fun because he was a weirdo when i found him in the nick

now im in nipton and FLOL at the lottery

Picked the one that boosted speech etc at the cost of a slight deduction in guns. But guns were my primary skill anyway so all balances out.

Also picked the wild wasteland, which is supposed to help spawn random encounters more. Things like Alien landings etc according to the guide. So seemed like a good thing to choose.

Quite enjoying it so far, pretty much looted every single thing from the first town and sold it. So already got a decent amount of caps.

Spent about 4 or 5 hours on this today.

It's stupidly massive. Got right into it again having played Fallout 3 religiously. Just got ED-E up and running. Took a while finding a couple of module sensors, mind.

Are people concentrating on skills they had in F3? I did lockpicking, medicine, small guns and a few others but not sure what to do this time round. Was thinking more survival, energy weapons, science etc.

I'm basically going down the same paths as Fallout 3, perks and trait wise.

I'm at home with that.

Quick one but were do you sell stuff to get more caps? also how do i re-charge cnd for the guns :s im clueless

Played for a few hours now and still finding my way around, searching out locations and trying to level up just so I can complete the speech challenges. Cleared out the Powder Gangers, well except those at the prison who pretty much gang raped me :dapprove:

Ordered the guide now to give me an idea, as so far because of needing to level up speech, I haven't finished one of the first main missions.

It's harsh coming straight from F3 with all the armour and guns. I may as well be running round naked with a pea shooter.

Think I may do my skills similar to before but with survival and science following on. Hard to know what's coming. In F3 I now wish I'd done energy weapons as they are quite common in that game but don't know if there is more emphasis on normal weapons this time round.

Remember the skill books permanently add 3 to the relevant skill, and skill magazines add 10 for a set time. These are very handy if you have a lockpick skill of 40 and need to pick an average safe which is 50. Simply read a locksmith skill magazine beforehand - 50 skill straight away. It will wear off, but it does the job. Some things you eat or even wear add to certain skills, too. Your Pip boy will inform you what adds what.

The guide book is excellent for little tips and advice on skills and what to put your points towards.
